Onstar/MyLink vs. Google Maps
I have lots to say about my new 2016 Vette and the like (sorry, been busy driving), but this comes up. Onstar... Chevy... MyLink... If you want to get my attention, and I'm really trying to use ya to understand your benefits and limitations, you need to implement CONVENIENCE!
Case in point - Wine tasting today from a Meetup.com group. They have a Google Maps link and I go there. There's a "Send to my device". What is not listed is my car! Just my phone.
Now normally, before the vette, I'd just send it do my cell phone device and I'd use that navigation. But if I'm to use MyLink's navigation then I need a "Send to Vette" option on Google Maps.
Otherwise I'll wait for Android Auto, which is supposed to be just a software update, and screw OnStar. My question to OnStar is do you want to make money? If so then ask me (i.e. your customer) how.

You can do the same with the OnStar app for your phone; go to maps and put in your destination then send it to your car.....very easy, I use it all the time when road tripping.

or you can have a 2016 and not pay ridiculous prices for onstar.
Since you already have that, not sure what your issue is. Evidently no iphone.
carplay works great.

On the plus side my dealer assures me that the Android Auto will be merely a software upgrade for the 16's and up. 15's and down need new hardware.

What you're asking for would have to be done by Google. They have their own version of CarPlay coming out, so maybe it will be in that and maybe it will be compatible with your car. That's a lot of maybes.
