Damnit. Not much else to say. Made a turn to tight in a parking deck and rode up on a curb / island.

Been there...done that. I used emery cloth to smooth it out. Then Dr Colorchip to cover it up. No one has ever noticed it.

This is actually hard to see without bending down but, unfortunately, it is a deep chunk. It's not just the surface. Going to have it fixed properly.

I think every Corvette owner feels your pain. Hope it gets fixed quickly, still some good driving weather left in NC...

I know that this was not your best day. I am sure that the fix will never be noticed.

Ouch!!
Feel your pain.
It's so easy to do since our cars are so low to the ground.

Did something similar with my XLR about 7 months ago.
I took mine to a paint shop in San Diego, and they said just to leave it alone- wasn't worth trying to fix.

Luckily, the guy that bought the car from me didn't even notice the damage since it's so low and out of regular eye-sight.....whewwww.

Interesting to read you were able to fix it yourself!
What sort of emery cloth did you use? What sort of grit? Where'd you purchase it?

Hope I don't have to make this repair to my C7, but nice to know there is an inexpensive fix.

Did much worse damage to my C5 under similar circumstances. Went to a reputable body shop. It took a week but the repair was undetectable to me even on my hands and knees. Fortunately your damage is out of the the line of sight. Never had this problem in my Navigator.

The body design will aid in a repair that will be never be detected, even by you. Have it repaired ASAP.

It happens, but after a small repair it is history.

I did something similar in my C5. I was going to a project party and was trying to find a parking place away from door bangers. I ended up dropping the right side off a boat ramp and crunching the right rocker panel. The local body shop did a great job (on my dime so no insurance claim or CARFAX report). The body shop owner had a nice C6 at the time and understood my pain. I'll try to be more careful with the C7 once it arrives.

I've got you beat. Kissed a curb at only 1 week old.

I guess front cameras only work if you have the good sense to look at the screen. $800 later, all is well.
$150 for a Curb Alert is well worth the investment - Yes, I have one now.

Sorry for you aggregation. A good shop will make it look like it never happened. And, as others have said, it's not in a bad spot for you to try and clean it up/repair if you like that sort of project.

Not sure of the grit, it was a piece I had lying around. It was very fine though. I just used it to make the area smooth again so I could paint and clear coat that area. If you get on your knees and within a couple of feet you can see the repair. Beyond that you can't tell since its low and that area angles down.

A few hundred bucks at a good body shop and in a couple of days you won't know it's there.
