Who is using PowerStop Z26 brake pads?

Power Stop Track Day Pads
There's a lot of great discussion here on the Powerstop Z23 and Z26 pads. Has anyone tried the Power Stop Track Day Pads?

Your pads are probably a very good choice although pricey.
I do see and have experience with Powerstop on My previous '11 G.S.
good stopping and hardly any dust...I do not track.
My sales experience.....You can't build yourself up ..by knocking someone else down..

Does anybody know if the Power Stop Z-26-1474A front pads, and the Z-26-1718 rear pads fit the 2017 Z-51? I looked on their site and it doesn't list anything for 2017 Corvettes. Thanks.

I'm getting a slight bronzing effect on my rotors with about 800 miles on my Z26's. It tends to lighten up after a wash which indicates its pad residue.
It doesn't bother me but I was wondering if anyone else has seen this or maybe this is normal for the rotors with the stock pads.
PS - I just washed so its in its "lighter color" phase.

Somewhere in the bazillion Z26/23 posts someone has posted something similar about a bronze sheen on the rotors (with pictures) with these pads but no ill effects. I have not noticed it on mine. All this to say it appears to be normal.
Ok. Found it:

I'd rather have bronze rotors then brown/charquol covered wheels...
I have the Z26s on my wifes camaro and I noticed the rotors bronzing a bit after 5k miles. Doesn't bother me.... but her black covered silver wheels sure did.

So... PowerStop also makes a track pad. Has anyone tried it out? I keep seeing them on line and wanted to get some feed back.
My guess is, they are going to be a little bit more dusty than the Z26s. But if these are as good as what I've been told from a buddy that went through the Bondurant Racing School, it's definitely more friendly on the wallet.

I have a question about these pads....do these pads have any adverse effect on the rotors (i.e.: premature wear of the rotors)?

I have about the same miles on mine. Rotors look like the day I installed them. I sold my stock pads for almost as much as the Z26's cost me and couldn't be happier with the performance of the Powerstop pads and lack of dust, noise, or any other issues. Highly recommended!

I just received my Z26 pads today and have a couple of questions:
1. Should I use the brake clips provided with the z26 pads or my stock clips?
2. Should I use the pins provided for my rear brakes or the stock pins?
3. Do I need to purchase more brake lubricant? It does not look like there is enough with 1 packet for the rear pads.
4. Besides the back of the pad, where else should I apply the lubricant?
5. Do I need to sand the rotors? If so, what grit? I have 300 miles on my GS.

It's up to you if you want to use the new clips and pins there both the same.
Also put some lubricant on the ends of the pads where they touch the caliper.
Use 120 grit to sand the rotors also make sure you break in the pad per the instructions. You can go on their site to get the break in instructions.

2) Your choice. If the existing pins are in good shape, I re-use them.
3) Most likely. There is very little lubricant in the small pouch they give you. Just go to your local auto-parts store and grab a larger tube. Have a rag handy when you use it, it tends to get everywhere.
4) Lube the back of the pads (the backing plate) and the tabs. Do NOT lube the friction surface. Wear gloves.
5) Extremely unlikely you will need to sand the rotors. With only 300 miles, I doubt you have any old pad material built up on the existing virtually brand new rotors.

I had just over 1K miles on my C7 and did not sand the rotors - no problem. The pads burned in normally with street driving. Had plenty of lubricant for the backsides of the pads and utilized the OEM pins and clips. Everything is great! Just make sure you seat the pins all the way.

Just ordered the Power Stop Z26 Extreme Brake Pads for my 2017 Grand Sport, part numbers Z26-1405 and Z26-1718, on Amazon for $110.61 total, shipped and no tax. They are on sale there right now.

Because I order a set of the Carbotech an when I received them they did not look as well made as the OEM pads, so I opted for the Power Stop Z26 pads. In a side by side comparison between the Power Stop, Carbotech, and OEM pads for a Z51, the Z26 pads looked like they had been engineered better. I said in my post, I think the pads are better I didn't say they where better. If you remember correctly I called you and asked about the way the pads where manufactured because I didn't feel like the pads where made correctly and I was worried about noise as a lot of people attested too. So at the end of the day I sold the Carbotech pads and installed the Z26 pads.

I don't get it.. At the cost of these pads there is no way the quality control or quality of material can be superior to a pad made in the USA such as Carbotech.
