Engine dress-up parts?
I have a GM Accessories Certificate that I would like to use for some engine dress up parts. Does GM sell these? I can't find them on any of the GM dealer websites. Thanks.

I have some experience with the GM Certificates.
To my knowledge, GM does not offer engine dress up stuff. You can spend thousands of your hard earned $ on those with the Forum Vendors here. Pete @ Showstoppers I will recommend. There are countless threads that will give you ideas and vendors.
Generally, you can only use these certificates for Accessories from the GM Accessories Catalog. So you cannot use it for other GM parts that are not part of the Accessories Catalog. The best value from the Catalog is for tires. They are hard to find in the GM Accessories website but they are there. The GM price on tires is competitive and you get a lot of bang for your certificate $.
You can try to "sell" the certificate. People are willing to buy the GM accessories and appreciate a steep discount. What you have to do is use the certificate you have yourself to get the item(s) the purchaser wants, then ship it to the purchaser. You have to use the certificate - it is not transferable. So it is a bit of hassle.
People, including me, approached the dealer they bought the car from and asked the dealer (owner) if they would honor the certificate for non-accessories regular parts. Then you can get whatever you want. It really is a PITA for the dealer. So the sales guys will not be eager, and the parts manager won't be eager. But if you go to management or owner nicely they might make it happen. It is a LOT of paper work for them. GM, like any big company, is not easy to do business with. If the dealer will do it, they truly are doing you a huge favor. So doing this, I was able to get a CF dash, console arm rest, hood liner, black wheel center caps, and a few other things that were not in the GM accessories catalog.

On my GM certificate, in bold print, it states " Tires are not included".
Still trying to figure out what I want from the accessories list. Want a splitter, the cheap GM one, but its not on the accessory list.

Too bad GM doesn't make the dress up engine parts - would be a good use for those certificates.

All of my engine dress-up parts came from RPI Designs. Lots of different styles and colors.

Interesting, that must be a recent development. When I got mine last year that was not the case. I guess GM figured out that their tires were the best value for their certificate use and too many customers were getting a good deal. We can't have that!

Engine?
How can you put dress up parts on an engine if you cannot see the engine? You must be talking about special fuel rail covers to replace the stock ones? All I see under the hood of a new vette are plastic covers over just about everything. You know, it used to be actually possible to open the hood and see the cylinder heads of an engine....no fooling....it really was!
