Default Trickle charge issues

Has anyone had problems with the Corvette charger that plugs into the 12v outlet? They charge $100 for this and after being gone for 6 months my battery was stone cold dead! It took 24 hrs to charge the battery up .

Did you have it plugged into the socket in the rear compartment? It is the only one that is active when the car is off.

Last winter I did the same thing, plugged mine in for the winter, after 5 months...tried to start car and it was dead.....had to replace the battery and get a new charger....some people say good things on this site about the chargers BUT I find them to be crap....IF battery has been taken down and can't start the car, then you need to replace the battery as well...my $.02

He charger IS made to plug into the outlet in the trunk area. Won't work by plugging into the console.

Sounds like you plugged it into the wrong power port.

Sure did... I did not even. know there was a trunk plug. When I bought the car the salesman pointed to the consol outlet and he was their

Part of the problem may be that on the C6 (not sure about the C5) you could use the outlet in the front console for the recharger plug, and since many of us were former C6 owners, we just assumed it would be the same on the C7. I would have made the same mistake without reading the C7 manual. Actually, I think I learned it here first.
