Currently I'm running the much maligned Optima Red Top in both my C5 and Father's C6. Hoping to get 3 to 5 years out of them. I may consider the Odyssey brand next go 'round. Not a lot of AGMs to choose from.

Thanks - didn't mean to start an oil thread type post. The only Optima I've had I had a bad experience with.
We're taking the C5 thru South Dakota and Yellowstone this August for about 12 days and I'm still running an Interstate lead acid battery. It's only a few months old on a warranty replacement, but I'm going to switch to an AGM before the trip. I see Toys 4 Life showed his seven year old AGM battery in one of his great videos and it was a Duracell. They are made by East Penn Manufacturing. I've got a Batteries plus nearby and was thinking about picking one up. Anyone have one of those?
OK ill say it, their junk. Sorry u left this open. JK
Hey, who picked all the low hanging fruit? Why I outta....
I just put in an Optima red-top in April. Previously had an Interstate (2023) which was in there when I bought it last june. Fearing acid leaks, I put a battery mat under the Interstate, and this spring I pulled the battery out to clean the ground under there. The mat had acid on it! A three year old battery... always connected to my NOCO smart charger, leaking.

I'm sure the Duracell will be excellent. Good call on switching to AGM. Do it now. Just be sure your charger has an AGM mode.

Do your research but I just did a quick check and it looks like the Duracells are lead acid only. If/when you find an AGM other than Optima or Odyssey please post the info. Watch the group size as our C5 batteries are in tight quarters.

Got it - I've got a few Battery Tenders that can charge AGM.
We've had the C5 since 2006 and - knock on wood - we have never had any kind of ECBM or electronics issue with the car. The only time the dash lights up with the traction control, stability control, ABS lights is if I haven't exercised the ABS system in a while, or if I happen to get a lot of wheel spin - which only seems to happen on cold tires. I'd like to keep it that way.
