Default Mother wants a Vette:)

As some of you may know last week I traded in my 09' Convertible for a 17' Grand Sport Coupe my mother had told me in the past that she would like to buy my car when I sell it. I didn't really think she was serious now she is pissed at me and wants to buy a red Stingray convertible. I may be picking up yet another car tomorrow which I will drive down to Florida in a week or two. There are no Red Convertibles 2lts anywhere other then one Grand Sport that I plan to buy tomorrow. I can't wait to have both of them on my driveway for a photo shoot. BTW my mother is 78 more power to her, God I love her!

Very cool story and mother.

My 79 year old mom is as cool as your mom sounds.

My Mom used to love riding in my C7. I'd pick her up every Sunday and spend some quality time with her. She was 85 when she passed away in June 2015.

That is a great story! My mom is the same way, at 74yrs old went from driving a 91 Corvette vert to a 15 Boxster.

She liked the fact you can actually drive the P car with little effort unlike the C4 which is so very true . She drove a new C7 vert and thought the car felt too big...lol.

My mom is the one that got me interested in sports cars.
When I was young I bought her 79' Camaro
Then I bought her 83' Trans Am
I would have also bought her 85 Mustang GT convertible but it was totaled in a flood
My father bought my 83 Yamaha Varago
when all enjoyed out toys!
But this is a whole new level Two Grand Sports in a week is insane!
If all goes well I will bring it home tomorrow however the paperwork my be an issue being then live in Florida I not sure how it is done.

My Mom always had sports cars as well but she favored the German brand....

I feel your pain, my Mom passed last year after a well fought battle with cancer.

I don't think my mother got any sleep last night frankly I didn't get much either very excited and hoping I can close the sale this morning then go pick it up this afternoon.
It is way too cold for my comfort but the tires will heat up eventually. If all goes well my daughter said she will take the drive to Florida with me in a little over a week then we will ride back north with my son who is coming for a visit for the holidays. She be some good bonding time with the kids. I have my fingers crossed that all goes well today!

Is your mother interested in younger men? I'm 71.

Just kidding, my wife wouldn't allow it.

Go for it. Heck my mom has been daily driving a Corvette since 2004 (2004 vert, 2006 vert, 2008 vert, and now a 2014 Stingray).

Don't have a pic of her with the new car at work but I do have one with her and my dad's '60 Corvette back in highschool (circa 1963).

So yeah...let her go for it! Corvette's have been my family's blood line for a long time now.

I totally understand you on this one. My mother turned 82 in Sept and I can't keep her out of my vette. She owns a Saab but every Sunday morning there she go on her way to church in my vette !!! I love her with all my heart and don't mind one bit when she drive off because for an older young lady to roll up in a 2016 vette is one of the most lovely sights in the world. She know how to work the parking camera's and she is very careful I'm just worried that some youngster is going to pull up next to her on the highway in a mustang and she will have to give him the business !!!!

My mother thinks 5 mph over the limit is speeding but she loves Corvettes. It's been a dream and I wanted to see that it happened. My father could care less about this he can't see the difference between a C5 and a C7 Z06 yet mother is in haven and bouncing off the walls waiting to get her hands on her new car!
Sadly it snow flurried a little today it killed me that I don't have another garage for her car!
