C7 Grand Sport
I have a 2011 Grand Sport loaded up but stock.. I am thinking about getting a new Grand Sport .. Looking to get input from people that have upgraded from a 2010-2013 Grand Sport to a new C7 Grand Sport or even a new Z06.. Just looking for honest plus and minus thoughts on your upgrade and if you would recommend it... Thanks Bob

^^^ People who own a C7 aren't going to be discussing them here...

I had a 2008 Z51 equipped car and have driven a C6 GS. Sold the 08 for a 17 GS. This is how I break it down...
If your use of the Vette is mainly straight line acceleration and cruising/touring... then the cars are pretty close and main difference is in the interior (which is a matter of personal taste) and exterior cosmetics too.
If you like to take corners fast and want the car to corner flat and track around the corner like it is rotating around it's center, then the new GS is for you. I kid you not, the new GS just takes turns with so much more confidence and ease it is truly a jump in performance. I am tickled every time I carve a tight turn and the car just feels like it is as composed as in a straight line.
Hope this helps.

While I didn't have a C6 GS I had a base vert I recently bought a C7 Grand Sport. I love the look ride and feel of the new car! This said I don't love the chatter of the front tires during slow cold turns. Aside from this I love the car which is a good thing because I will be paying for for many years! I paid off my C6 in about a year this was a major plus the new one will take me a bit longer however the deals at this time are great so if this is something you are considering now is a good time! As for a z06 I would love to own one but I'm sure I will never need more power then the GS provides! Best of luck with whatever you decide if you choose to stay with what you have I don't blame you it's a great car with little room for improvement however the C7 manages to pull it off.

I owned a '13 GS, a '16 C7 Z51, and now own a '17 GS. All great cars. Performance, aero, and appearance go to the C7 GS imo. The appearance is certainly subjective depending on tastes and I have been on both ends of the spectrum. Two weeks after I bought my '13 GS, Chevy unveiled the C7 and I was unimpressed with the Camaro tail lights, front fins, ect, plus it was a narrow body base. Fast forward to the C7 Z06 unveil and I started paying attention, merely at just the appearance alone. By late 2016 all of my research indicated GM would not build a GS so I ordered a Z51. Three months after that was built........yep...........GM announces they will build a GS in 2017. I ordered my C7 GS in July and it arrived in late Sept. I basically had the month of Oct to play with it, so I have not tracked it like the previous 2 Vettes. I am a **** for the wide body Vettes, so take my apperance opinions as biased in a sense.
The C7 electronics of the dash and infotainment are light years ahead of the C6, but the interior is slightly more cramped. I have the competition seats, a $2,000 option that also force a $500 suede steering wheel and shifter boot. These seats are better than the standard seats I had in my C7 Z51, but not $2,500 better.
All 3 of my Vettes have been manuals, so I can not speak to any improvements to the C7 autos, but certainly someone will chime in on that (grin)
Good luck!

ok so i track my cars So the ONLY thing I don't completely love about my C7 GS is
the brake/rotor cost !!!
should have got the Zo7 package that's my only regret !
What a great car, more power than my 12GS ,ton of electronic stuff that's cool.
PS the 12 GS wheels fit but are supper close to the front brake caliper.

Traded in my 2011 GS for a 2016 Z06 and never looking back, this is a street legal race car. Bypass the GS if you can afford it and get a Z06. The extra 200 HP scares some people, but not me
As I stated in that other thread as well, a few new differences and some bad things about the C7 in general. I say go test drive them and see what you think.

I traded my '05 Z51 coupe for a new '15 Z51 coupe. Admittedly, neither is a GS but I think the findings are still valid. Quite simply, the C7 is IMO better than the C6 in every regard. Even if you discount styling (though the C7 is a total knockout), the C7 is vastly superior to what was already a superb car. Just a few examples:
- It should be obvious by now that the C7's interior is much more upscale to that of the C6. It's a combination of materials used, fit / finish, available amenities (e.g. ventilated seats, color HUD, much better-sounding audio system), and strength / comfort of the standard GT seats.
- The power train rocks. Granted, I'm comparing my current LT1 with my '05's LS2 and not your LS3, but this engine just feels so much more "beastly" than that one. The 7-speed manual with rev matching is an exercise in engineering brilliance.
- Not to be overlooked, I can't say enough about the C7's EAPS (electrically assisted power steering). Not only does it have the best steering feel of any car I've ever owned, that feel can be customized to the driver's preference.
- Speaking of that, this car has a ton of custom configurability available including instrument cluster appearance mode, specific instruments to be displayed, steering feel, exhaust note, and 3-mode selective ride control.
- The most important part to me is how I feel inside every time I drive my Stingray. As great as I felt when driving my C6 (after all it was my very first Corvette), driving the Stingray is a whole new ballgame. It's the most emotionally satisfying car I've ever owned and likely that I ever will own.

Very legit points here, and ill emphasize the steering....its fantastic. Coming from a 2012 GS to a 2017 GS i am kicking myself for waiting so long. I still do not care for the rear end of the c7 at all ( and it has nothing to do with it not having round tail lights) but the rest of the car offsets this many times over.
