This clearly seems to be the better option. The only downside is that you have to undue the "tune" before taking the car in for service in order to not have a warranty problem. But I don't think that is any big deal to do.

I have a Range AFM defeat device on mine. Stays in V-8 all the time. Cant see any need for a V-4 in a Corvette. No problems with the device which I bought last month. I did install a switch so I can shut it off as I heard it can run down your battery. Left in on for a week parked with no issues and since the light goes with the ignition, i guess it is off then.

Received my Range unit today. Installed with a switch. Plan to take a nice long drive tomorrow to see how it performs both in town and on the highway to compare mileage with and without the Range in operation.

My Range unit was delivered yesterday and I installed it today using a switch cord. I did a little experimental drive to see if there was any difference in mileage with the Range on vs with it off. I drove about 30 miles, a combination of city and highway driving, all level road. One direction with the Range on and the other with it off. The mileage was within 0.3 mpg. Top off and exhaust in Sport Mode, oh what a sweet sound.
So, unless I am cruising on the interstate I will be driving with the Range on. If I want to maximize mileage while cruising at a steady speed on the interstate I may turn it off. So far, no issues with my car. It is an early build 2016 Base model Stingray, A8.

Range VER 8.1
I currently have VER 8.1 firmware, my 3rd or 4th version ( I've lost count ).
My car is still being stored for the season and have yet to test it other than just plugging it in.
Can anyone with this firmware version advise whether the blue light still stays on after it cycles upon being powered up?
The unit I have cycles then emits no light. ( ignition off )
Curious whether there is no longer a need for a switch or to unplug when not in use to avoid draining the battery.
Thanks !
