Vengeance Racing M7 C7 Z06 goes 10.20@142.7... Pics/Video/Time Slip Inside
We FINALLY made it down to SGMP for testing last Thursday with our C7Z as well as a couple customers and their VR CTSVs. . As usual the track was on kill, but the weather was not great....DA averaged 2200-2500ft all day long.
Our Z had been performing great on the street, but we quickly found out that the added power and the 100+ dyno pulls have taken their toll on our stock clutch. We attempted to slip the clutch out of the hole just a bit on the first run leaving around 2500RPM and the clutch went up in smoke instantly. After some street driving to knock the glaze off the discs and a nice hour plus cool down we gave it another shot. This time leaving just above idle and having to immediately engage the clutch. This method got us down the track, but the clutch was still slipping enough in first gear to leave a cloud of smoke from under the car.... Needless to say launches/gear changes were not what we are used to, but we did manage to get a respectable ET out of the car as well as post the fastest mph to date of any C7 Z06.
FWIW, we were running on 93 octane/VP M1 methanol. This tune makes around 740-750RWHP. I weigh 258lbs so we werent exactly light weight either lol...
It is worth noting we removed the spoiler-ettes for a pass and ran a 143.2 which is half mph faster than our best with them on. I imagine they are worth 2-3 mph in the half mile events we participate in.
We will be installing an RPS carbon triple later this week and going back to the track ASAP to see the true potential of this car.
For those interested we did reset the M6 CTSV World Record running a 10.09@150.9MPH... This is four tenths and 10mph faster than any manual transmission CTSV posted on the net anywhere to date

WOW! VERY impressive times & MPH given the "soft" launch......with the new clutch you be back with a real Vengeance (pun intended!)
Thanks for also testing with/without spoiler-ettes......how many did you remove?

Glad you guys keep finding the limits of the stock parts Ron. Nice pass considering. You need to get on an airborne diet to gain a tenth in the quarter. ha

Nice time, what's the setup on this car? I believe I saw you posted this a while back but can't find the thread with the info. Thanks and again keep raising the bar!

Super-Sweet! Was that with our Stinger CKNZ onboard?

I think the other thing that a lot of people don't realize is how impressive your passes were given the horrible 2371 DA! Even with your pathetic stoplight take-off (thanks to the clutch) the times corrected for the lousy DA are 10.104 @ 144.218 MPH
WOW!

Clearly they know for how much HP's this car is making it needs all the tire it can get with the insanely low rpm torque this car makes. The revolutionary center of gravity is slightly shifted with the angle of the suspension and torque curve to clutch fatigue release pressure is what you're missing Jared@RIP. Make sense now?
