Looking for some input
Hi guys,
I'm basically having a hard time coming to a decision, just wanted some thoughts of what others who have been in my position might do.
I have a 2001 corvette with 185k on the clock and having a tough time deciding whether I want to trade it in for a C6 or keep it. As it stands I have the car setup the way I want since I do track days and such.
Although there is nothing wrong with the car other then a the oil pan sweating (possible rear or front seal) there is nothing else wrong. If I get a base c6 I will want to mod it to where my car is now.
I found a base 2006 c6 with 88k on the clock that is clean. No mods other then exhaust. With my car trade in the dealer wanted $12500 tax in...thoughts???

Keep it especially if its modded to where you want it to be.....
I've also modded my car to where I want it and see no reason to
"trade up" for now....maybe if/when the mid engine C8 becomes a reality.

For me it would come down to if I want to spend more money. You'll have the cost of buying the car and then the modding will begin. If money isn't an issue and you want a new project then why not.

Thanks everyone...I've decided to keep it for now and will be looking at doing more body modifications, and possibly some new seats. One step at a time I guess...

Keep the C5 a little longer until the prices of used C7s come down and then trade for that!

I'd wait till you can get into a little newer car (2008+) with a LS3 and TR6060 transmission, or the TR6060 behind a LS7 in a C6Z. Apparently, some of the electronics were upgraded or revised around then too.
