Default Niagara On The Lake Cruise Sat July 4, 2015

Anyone up for a cruise along Niagara On The Lake.

We'll head into Niagara Falls, stop at Betty's on Sodom Rd for lunch and then head out to Fort Erie to begin our cruise on the Niagara Parkway. Reservations for 20-30 people under Stan Penko, Corvette Forum.

Please arrive at the meet up points 10-15 minutes before or earlier the posted times. These are the depart times from these locations. i.e: We leave at 9am, 10am and 11am.

First meet up will be at the Tim Hortons at Dixon and Martin Grove for 9AM.

Second Meet up will be the Tim Hortons at Winston Churchill and QEW for 10AM.

Third Meet up will be the Gateway Ice Center on Fruitland Rd. for 11AM.

There are Petro Canada/Shell Gas Stations in the vicinity. Please make sure to have a full tank of gas from one of these 3 stops.

We'll cruise the back roads to the tunnel and then the last stop will be Betty's for around 1PM

From there we cruise to Fort Erie and NotL. One last bathroom break and then Niagara Parkway to the round about past the electrical station to get back onto the QEW. This will be where I stop leading. After this, you are on your own. I estimate, barring anything unforseen happening, to be at the round about around 4pm give or take. I am adding an additional stop before getting on the highway at the Cholocate FX just up the road from the round about, if any one else is interested, can follow me there.

This is going to be a long day of driving so bring refreshments with you and protection from the sun for us topless drivers, and anything else you might need.

Sounds good Mr Stan, not sure if I can attend for sure yet but will let you know.

Not to be a complainer, I appreciate all the awesome cruises you do for us, but can we go to a place that DOESN'T have a gravel parking lot? My car has enough stone chips already.

Except for maybe the casino or one of the plaza's on Ferry St/Lundy's Lane, I don't know of any in that area that has a large enough "free" parking lot.

There is that other place, I forget the name, just off NotL by the town. It's paved but not as big as Mike & Angelos.

We could park in the pay parking lot by the falls and head over to the restaurant in the Skylon tower or walk up to Victoria Ave to Montana's or something like that. But this could be a problem as most prefer not to leave their cars out of view.

But if anyone has any other suggestions, keep in mind for about 25-30 cars.

Stan.

I live in Niagara....this was my cruise through NOTL last weekend in fact, all stops right along the water:

I'll probably be in if not called in to work and I am sure I can draw the interest of a few others from the area.

Mick and Angelo's...great restaurant and just had their wings a few days back but yes, the back is gravel and I wouldn't park anywhere near the Candlelight Motel around back...

Sundowners paved and large....kidding...

Zeeman28a your the man but I am in Niagara so if I can help in any way, just hollar!

Excellent pics. Nice new Z06. But kind of hard to do with 25-30 cars tagging along.

So can you recommend a good place for lunch, with decent parking, paved, preferably free and corvette safe (gravel not withstanding, we just got to drive real slow) that can hold a large group, 20+ cars on a Saturday around noon.

I'm pretty sure the guys wouldn't mind Sundowner, but probably not so much the women, unless there was something there for them as well, but you are right, that it is a huge paved lot.

Ive been thinking of that...give me a day. Lundys lane is my way to work so... And dont get me wrong.. I am very partial to Mick and Angelo's as I have been going there for years... I almost wonder what time arrival would be, approx number and it they would consider blocking off the paved parking for this event...

Would be good if they did, but still, not large enough to hold all of us. What's in front, maybe 6 or 7 cars max? Most would still have to go to the gravel lot anyways.

What if we made arrangements to park across the street in the hotel lot? But then we would be fighting traffic to get out as we head south on Montrose.

I think Betty's on Sodom Rd is the way to go. Try something different. It has a huge, paved lot, good menu, easy to get to and doesn't look like a lot of car traffic through there. Plus Sodom Rd goes right to Hwy 3. I'll have to call ahead and make reservations.

You better come now Corrado. With the help of AllFlash, he found a place with no gravel.

Sorry Mr Stan, not trying to make your life difficult, but my wheels chip if I look at them funny.

Hoping I can make it that day!

As a niagara guy I would suggest bettys as well as it has excellent food and a nice big paved lot. Its also outta the way and not on the main drag. It accomplishes the main goals of good food and maximum car protection. I may even hook up with you guys at some point. Just be aware that its the biggest blue hair resturant in that end of Niagara, so lots of wheelchars and walkers. The food is fantastic so I generally dont care. Besides old folks know value.

you can't go wrong with Betty's any other weekend Stan and we'd be there but that is the Bayfield Vet meet and we're already booked in. We enjoyed your Niagara cruise a couple years ago .... next time I guess

I did a search on the forum for July 4 and nothing came up for this year. I try not to organize cruises on the same day as other events.

Sorry to miss you this time around, but there will be another one. I'm currently organizing a cruise with the Virginia Corvette Club. We met a couple of their members last year at my NotL cruise and they enjoyed themselves. They are trying to organize their group to come up in September to meet with us.
