How to remove water spots!?!
Well, I am VERY CAREfull about where I park my vette to avoid sprinklers.. but the other day, I went to a bar, parked out in the boonies to avoid the dumb drunk guy smashing the side of my car... and when I came back, I noticed sprinklers had come on while I was inside...
Now there are terrible water spots... what can i do to take them off? is there a solution out there? I have not waxed my vette yet.. which I'm sure made them worse.. but there are a lot of minerals in the water where I live..
Suggestions?

BTW, I had a very good coat of NXT and Booster on it. Ran through some road paint that was still wet and was able to get it off, but the water spots had to be buffed with the swirl remover.

Perhaps someone who is better versed in car care can address whether this is actually GOOD for your paint or not but a 50/50 mix of water and vinegar will take them right out. I used to do this on my WS6 when my neighbor lacked sprinkler courtesy and it did not seem to damage the paint after MANY repetitions.
Good luck!

for me:
clay bar doesn't touch them
vinegar, even full strength had no effect at all.
used 3M fine cut rubbing compound BY HAND
BEFORE
AFTER
The results above were on an outside vehicle ignored for 3 years with deep etched in water spots.
Since then I've found that scratchX works quite well by buffer, and it will also work quite well by hand - only for relatively fresh water spots.
my suggestions for you:
1. Start with Meguiar's scratch X - the least abrasive. by hand if you have to, but buffer with a white pad is better.
2. if that doesn't work, step up to 3M swirlmark remover (39009)
3. If that doesn't work, step up to 3M fine cut rubbing compound (39002)
If this just happened a few days ago, I'd bet the the scratch X with a buffer will get them out in about 3 seconds.

Great stuff. Just make sure NOT to use it on plastic -- I made this mistake, not knowing a headlamp cover was plastic -- it scratched the hell out of it. Use on glass only.
