How often do you wax/seal your Vette?
Hey: I see so many posts discussing the longevity of a wax or sealant:
Here's a question -- how many guys here seriously can wait 2 months before putting a wax/sealant on their car? I'm betting that corvette guys are far too car crazy for that -- I bet there are guys out there that wax their cars more than they brush their teeth. This is an important point, because if you wax your car every 2 weeks, then the longevity of a wax/sealant is not a real concern at all. Who cares if it lasts 2 months or 6 months if you'll be re-doing it every 2 weeks anyway ?
Vote in my poll and let's get some pseudoscientific data on this. My hypothesis: if you drive a Honda accord, I bet longevity matters, but on a C6 it's irrelevant.
- "Klasse only lasts 2 months
- NXT lasts only 3 weeks
- Zaino lasts 6 months

Here in Southern California waxing twice a year is enough because our two sports cars only come out of the garage once or twice a week. Our daily driver gets a wash once a week and waxed quarterly. With three cars, I am always waxing something. I also wax other people's cars that visit us so I get plenty of waxing time.

Maybe every 2-3 weeks. I really enjoy making the Vette look as good as I can.

As I suspected -- I think Corvette guys are pretty fanatical about their cars. With just two cars, I am definitely washing and waxing one or the other on almost every weekend of the summer, less in the winter. I think the three things that excite me most in life are
what else is there in life?
So my thought, then, is that longevity of the wax or sealant is not very relevant to guys like us.
keep the votes coming.
- seeing my wife naked
- riding a second gear wheelie on route 1 at 100 mph
- seeing a glistening deep gloss on ANY car after a good detailing session

Since I've got a black car, and I love the way a fresh coat of NXT hides 95% of the swirl marks, I find myself doing it every 2 or 3 weeks now. Last year when I got my C5 (exactly one year today actually!) I only put one coat of Zaino on it before the winter, then one coat of Meguiar's #26 was put on during the winter by my favorite detailing shop. I find NXT is so easy to use, plus I bought myself a random/orbit buffer finally, so I can do one coat in only 45 minutes. So it's not a problem for me to do it every couple of weeks.

Both looks and longevity are very important to me, thats why I use Zaino on both my daily drivers and my vette. Luckily with Zaino you get the best of both worlds.

Ha !!
you guys crack me up.
well, it's only fair to warn you -- that woman on the web site isn't my wife - just a random chick I put there to add some spice to the page.
My real wife has some psych troubles, and an eating disorder. She's very proud that she's down to 385 now, but would like to make it to 350 pounds before Christmas. And she has some trouble with acne and baldness.
She's unfortunately very private and gets mad if I post pics of her on the web, but here's one recent pic. Hope she doesn't mind this one.
