Chemical Guys TORQ Foam Cannon - Review
Just thought I'd share my feedback on the Chemical Guys TORQ Foam Cannon for those of you who may be interested or considering different washing methods...
Previously I always used a two bucket method with debris traps in the bottom of each bucket to reduce chances of paint swirls, etc. Recently, I decided to give the Foam Cannon a whirl and today I got the chance to use it for the first time.
Let me start by saying I'm not loyal to any brand, I use what works for me and have used Mother's, Meguiar's, Griots, etc. so this was the first trip down the rabbit hole with Chemical Guy's products.
I will never go back to the two bucket method again! This Foam Cannon was amazing, snapped right into the pressure washer wand and boom... luxurious foam! I coated the entire car in under 1 minute and let it sit and soak for about 5 minutes before taking a microfiber mitt to the parts that get the dirtiest, I purposely didn't scrub the entire car because I wanted to see if the soap and soak method alone would do the trick and it did. Rinsed it off, dried with a microfiber towel and was done in under 20 minutes and it looked like I spent an hour scrubbing.
I'm sure other brands and cannons work similarly but I was really impressed with the product and the soap.

Thanks for this post. In Car Care I just posted and asked for input on the foam cannons that clip onto a garden hose, as I don't have a pressure washer....

I have one coming later this afternoon and will try to use it tonight on my Chevy Cruze - the Cruze is my test bed for new products lol

I want to find one that lasts.
They all work awesome the first time.
I've bought the cheap ones and the expensive ones, they all seem to crap out at the end of summer.

Be careful. While foaming is a great way to remove grime and debris-while it dwells that matter can and will be lifted in suspension. If you chose to do away with a 2 bucket method-in the least rinse the car and wash with clean water. You can re-introduce them onto the paint surface by just wiping this to remove.

I do not agitate the first foaming. It is simply to remove the majority of the dirt with very minimal chance of inducing scratches.
The second foaming is immediately followed, with a 2-bucket wash to remove the dirt film that remains..THEN the vehicle is rinsed.
I personally have not seen a highly effective and safe "touchless" wash. (I have yet to use coatings...which may be a significant step in the progress of touchless.)

IMHO foam cannon isn't typically enough to thoroughly clean the car. Use the foam cannon PLUS the 2 bucket system is the safest and cleanest option....albeit more time consuming.

I use Adams Car Shampoo and Adams Wash and Wax. Both work well. If strip washing I'll and a few ounces of APC to the Car Shampoo.
There are probably many, many other products that would work well. If you have a car shampoo you have been happy with, try it in the gun/canon to see how it works (that's what I did with the Adams products and I saw no reason to change to something different.)
