Default M6 Tranny and Diff Coolers ROAD RACE ONLY

Is anyone aware of a GM optional (stock) M6 trans cooler?
I think we're going to need one but there could be a rule issue.

I don't think there was ever a diff cooler but I'd like to hear what some other have done.
Thks.

As far as I know, no there was not.

There is a T1 legal kit from GM, but I'm not aware of any original options for the M6.

I've installed 3 of these and they work pretty slick, if you can get the parts from LG.

The LG unit uses the differentials pinion gear to power the pump, pricey but nice.

As far as the GM unit goes the tranny isn't what is running hot it's the differential that heats up the tranny, if you cool the diff your tranny temps will come down.

If I were to install one unit on my car (if I had a C5) it would be the diff cooler from DRM http://www.dougrippie.com/ , save some money and cool down what you need to. However if you have the funds and don't mind spending a little extra the LG unit is very nice.

I would be interested in the GM kit also. Does any one have a GM part number, or know of where they are available ? My local Stealer was clueless when I went to the parts counter and asked about the cooler kit.

I have the GM T1 trans cooler kit installed.

Run Mobil 1 ATF in the trans and Mobil1 Gear oil in the diff.

I run mine on a manual switch not a t-stat. When I leave Pitt out the I flip the switch.

A few guys I know had the t-stat but took them out for the manual switch

ran mine 1 day with the t-stat and found that it came on about 3/4 way through the session and then stayed on after the session was over.

Went to a on/off switch now. Run a few laps to build up the tranny temp and then hit the switch untilt he session is over and then turn it off.

I just installed the GM T1 tranny kit a couple of months ago and have one track day on it. It worked great. I am running the standard t-stat switch. I do plan to put in a 3-way swith to make it t-stat, manual, on, always off. Or maybe I will installa simple "manual on" switch and yank the t-stat switch. I run Redline Dexron III equivalent in the tranny.
