I was all set to watch the race, pulled up my menu on my DirectDVR, set a nice cold beer on the coffee table and hit 'play'. Then I yelled DAMN SPEED CHANNEL!
Man, I really looked forward to that too. At least my beer didn't go to waste.

It should be shown again on Wed if I remember correctly.
A few of us went out to watch the race at a local restaurant and had to wait thru all of it until we were shown.

I feel your pain. The same damn thing happened to me. I will know next time to just set the Tivo for a specified period of time (like two hours longer than normal).
Thanks for the info of the rebroadcast.

So they did broadcast the race just later in the day?

I know.. It sucks. I had it set to record on my dvr as well and if I wouldn't have checked to see if it was taping, I wouldn't have known. I ended up extending the recording well past the scheduled time to record it.
It will replay this Wednesday the 26th at 1:00 PM Eastern time. The TC race is right before it at Noon.

The race was about an hour late. When I tuned in the Speed Touring Car series was on. The GT race was broadcast during the Monster Jam time period and I believe Monstor Jam was canceled for the day.
What were they supposed to do? A live event ran over its time period and all TV broadcasters remember the Heidi disaster that CBS had when they cut from a live football game to show the movie Heidi.

It's a freaking ARCA race though. It shouldn't have been live in the first place. They tape delay just about everything else except for F1 (Thankfully) or NASCAR.
I don't even care that they tape delay World Challenge. I just hate that they don't play it a lot of the times until a week after the race has happened. At least play it the same weekend.

I was so disapointed that the "Monster Jam" was cancelled. I was looking forward to seeing the "Grave Digger" crush a couple of toyota and honda.
Now I will have to check my local listings to see when I can watch a re-run of it. Darn!
Try the thread below and send Speed TV your complaints.

I think that with enough pressure, Speed TV will see the light. I also believe that some of the viewers watch all of the garbage Speed TV shows out of habbit and some car nuts (like me) only have about 3 channels locked into my remote because I only watch racing and news.
If they showed the World Challenge and promoted it, they will watch! and the ratings will go up and everyone will be happy.

I actually saw a COMMERCIAL for Speed World Challenge on Speed. Hallelujah!
With regard to the live event issue -
IMO - this is more of a DVR issue than a television issue. They agreed to televise the ARCA race live - and there was a delay. That's what happens sometimes.
If our DVR's were a little more clever - like the VCR Plus days of old - you'd plug in the show and it would start it when it started and end it when it ended - regardless of the actual "time". No more missing events due to goofy schedule changes, etc.
Drives me nuts when the series or season finales go 5-10 minutes longer than the "rectangle on the schedule grid" and I miss the ending!!!!
