Burning Brakes
i learned in high school foot ball punching a hellmet hurts and it dosent hurt the one wearing it... i thought palls move was ok, if he pulled it of he would be a hero.. so much at that level is determined in thousanths of a seconds and a fraction of an inch.. tag knows it and is pissed for comming out on the short end.. the foot will be on the other hand soon enuf.......

A guy on Wind Tunnel said it best - Paul should be banned for one race... That was a ridculous move that could have gotten someone hurt for no good reason...

If you split the second's up; you realize pretty quickly the move was ri-gawdarn-diculous. Oh good, windo tunnel's back on with no nascar! woo woo!

I have ALWAYS hated Tracy. Sure he has talent but he is way too aggressive and is constantly making stupid moves. This was just one more thrown on the pile. He should have waited a few seconds and lost a couple positions and at least be able to finish the race. But NO, he has to risk it all and end up with nothing.
Wish the coverage showed the fight in it's entirety !!

Just saw the rebroad cst of Speed news.
Tracy was having brake problems and not stopping or slowing. Tracy could not slow enough for a corner so he went off in to the run off area. He swong his car around and went back on to the track. Tracy said he though he could make it before any other cars.
As Tracy came back on to the track Tag spired Tacy.
Afer the race Tracy went to Tag to applogies. Tag lost it and said "I have no more cars. Which one of your cars am I picking up to drive?"
Tag had his helmet on and did not hear Tracy. SOme pushing and shoveing and the rest is history.

Saying Tracy was going to apologize is fairly wishful thinking. He looked so po'd at himself at the beginning of the confrontation that he couldn't even respond. And, I'm betting that his concern was taking out his own car and not Tag's. Gotta guess that there is a point where talent is less important than keeping the hardware in the race. He's a liability, not an asset. At some point the owner and sponsor will figure it out!
If Daly ever drove it doesn't show. The 'stay right up under his wing' mantra gets old when every instructor I've had keeps saying to hang back and get a run if you are faster. Guy's a dunce.

Regardless, that was rediculous move...
I think Tag showed some real restraint (and intelligence in keeping his helmet on, PT doesn't look like a featherweight ) Although it kind of pissed me off when they cut off the coverage just as the fight was getting underway All buildup and no conclusion

And unlike NASCAR fans, I don't even want to think about the fight any more. It's already history as far as I'm concerned. I watch racing for the racing, not the fighting.

Dave Despain's "Wind Tunnel" showed the fight ....several times in fact:-)
As mentioned, the Paul Tracy move was idiotic. Tagliani was right to keep his hat on.
There was NO NASCAR. There was significant coverage and discussion of the German GP

showing the fight; the men, the emotions the committment.
part of why nascar is successful is they idolize the drivers. People, most people, want to align with the man (or woman) and machine. Not just the machine or the engineer's who build them.
It takes a lot of people to make a race; not just drivers - you need pit crew too. To see the men sharing their extreme belief in the competition and rules is worth while. I also think PT threw the first punch, albeit at a guy with a helmet!

If PT couldn't see he should have stayed tight to his side. He swung across the whole track which is fine if you can see. Totally his fault, bad judgement for sure.
