Default Rock Auto Rotors - Made in China

FYI, just received a couple sets of rotors from Rock Auto and they are now selling the ones made in China. All prior rotors were made in Canada. I ordered the same ones I always have, the cheapest ones. Not too happy and wanted to let you know.

ALL of Raybestos, Rock auto or whoever's rotors are now made in China. No more casting in Canada or the US.

Made in China. Cheap labor, bigger corporate profits, more than likely lower quality material and lower quality in workmanship.

So, $25 NAPA rotors made in China, or ... who makes rotor rings for the 2pc vendors? I'm, of course, committed to 13" rotors now with the SL6Rs on order...

Actually it's worse than that... The $25 NAPA rotors are now $35-$40 for the made in China version. We're paying shipping on this crap too! I might just go back to GM made in Brazil rotors. They'll cost me more but they last longer.

I just ordered a set of stock Brembo rotors to fit a 1984 C4 and they only cost $18.99 ea. I got them from www.autopartswarehouse.com and shipping was a very reasonable $5.50 total. Brembo has production facilities all over the world so I will post an update on where they were manufactured when I get them on Monday.

They're calipers are made in Taiwan. Just hold on a minute, their rotors will start coming from China too... Last I checked I believe the Brembos are nothing more than drilled and/or slotted Raybestos. So theirs will probably come from China if they aren't already.

If the US and Canada foundries are closed where else will they come from?

Wilwood calipers made in USA. They need to make a direct replacement rotor also.

Guess I'll get some Coleman rotors cast over the winter to fit. We should ask Coleman how much to cast a rotor like stock GM rotor.

This country has lost a huge percentage of the auto parts business to overseas. I would google for the numbers again but it would ruin my night. All adds to the trade defict with the likes of China.

I'd love to see Coleman make a cast replacement for the C5. A friend uses their rotors with AP Racing calipers and says he got almost 2 seasons out of the Coleman rotors. Damn! I like that idea.

we're loosing everything over seas,

we can't control quality, have no tangible products to offer, and were dependent on other countries (friendly and not so friendly)

sort of sad to experinece the decline of a great nation...

victims of our own capitalism, in the name of cheep we've cheating ourselves as irony would have it
