Default C6 ... roof or no roof?

I suspect I know the logical answer but it just struck me I wasn't sure.

I am tracking my new C6 for the first time next week and I just always assumed I would track with the roof off as I did in my TA. Then I wondered if that would be wise. The TA was a T-Top versus a targa top and the "T" provided some integrity that would be missing in the vette design.

Maybe I just answered my own question but what do you think?

TIA

Paul

What would be nice is to get a conversion for the C6Z roof. From what I've heard/seen, it's the same as the targa top but bolt-in instead of latches (and magnesium, of course). If we could get a bolt-in AL roof...

Are you kiddin'? I think he would want a roof that stays on or else just leave it off entirely.

Thanks guys. I think I knew the answer but I wanted to hear it from others too. Plus, I'm just getting anxious so I just wanted to talk about it

I may be wrong but I think he's suggesting that with this option one could convert a Targa Top Coupe to a FRC like the C5's. An option I think GM should have never dropped.

Besides the added safety factor, the noise in the cockpit at +100MPH with the top off is earsplitting. ..not sure how much the helmet would help that but --- IMHO, leave it on.

I buy the "stiffer" and even the "safer" but I actually love the sound factor Again, I ran my 500 rwhp TA with headers, cutout open, gutted cats and the roof open. Nothing like it! Of course it had a 6-point cage for safety and flex control but man did it have the sound of a race car Actually I even ran my camcoder and the sound was not over whelming at all.

That's what I meant and thought was easily understood. Never thought I'd get my head ripped off for suggesting a C6 FRC .

you should feel the wind and 160+ with the windows down and roof off w/o a helmet on the autobahn. It's actually painful after a few minutes.

Start with the roof on, when it delaminates at 160 mph you can finish with the roof off
