C6, front plastic air dam too low!!!
I don't know if anyone else is having the same problem, but the front air dam is so low that it's creating problems at certain track. Not only is mine missing a few chunks, the impact also caused the plastic in front of the wheel well to crack. I have to use black duct tape from WalMart to hold that plastic together. I figure it makes no sense to keep replacing it and have it break again after one track event. ANyone else have problem with their C6?
Of course I also scrap four times a day going up my street and driveway

I've worn it down on track but never done any real damage. As for the driveway issue, I just redid mine and had them re-do the approach, too, so the angle was less with the road... trying to keep the radiator supports happier...

I cant pave the road going to my house... The stupid air dam can be ridicously low, I do wish I have an extra inch or so. I am not scraping the body, it's just the plastic piece kills everything. It's getting to a point that my fiance and I willl both go ouch when we see a small bump.

The three little black plastic pieces are stupid cheap at the dealer. I wouldn't worry so much about them if that's all you're talking about. I agree it's low, but I look at them as a wear item. :-)

I have 3" of ground clearance with my splitter. and have minimal problems on tracks. I also run the T1 suspension which is fairly stiff.
Granted driving on the roads and going up or down driveways is not ideal.

Replacing the lip isnt bad, but if you hit it hard enough like I did, it will break the mounting taps too. I had trouble going around the Karussel with its 22 degree banking.

Exactly my experience; my challenges on the track have never been the three hanging "splitter" units, street driving requires being alert for sharp angles. The C4 had a fixed single piece unit that may have been lower as I was always snapping it and finally went without.

How lowered are you? What shocks? Springs? Still have bump stops on the shocks? If you're busting the tabs you must be really slamming down!

stock everything, z51. I heard the Z06 bottoms out less in that corner because of stiffer suspension even though it is lowered.
I go through that karussel on street tires at over 1.8G, so that's just the way it is i guess

Which track has that corner? Sounds intense. I took about 1/2" off the very edges at Thunderhill when I switched to Toyo R888 tires; on street tires I would just barely rub it...

Shenandoah Circuit at Summit Point
I knew I was pulling a lot of Gs, but I didn't know I can pull 1.8G on street tires. On Rs, I should be pulling over 2G. Miatas can do 2Gs very easy.
I pulled 1.9G on my Z with R compounds
It looks something like this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FPg_j7tVtVk
It also doesnt help that I dropped the car into the banking, slamming the RF lip into the pavement

nice work! I'm guessing the plastic is a bit stiffer on the c6 with softer suspension - I've replaced those pieces three or four times on my c5. If you're going to be serious about the track, stiffen that puppy up. Done properly, the handling improvement is dramatic.
