oil cooler????
There are so many to choose from. Which ones have you had good luck with, and which should I stay away from? What features should I look for in better oil coolers?
It will be going in a 2002 zo6 for track racing.

I have a PFADT external oil cooler with a De Witts radiator and find that it is approx 20-25 deg less oil temp than with a Ron Davis with a built in cooler. I feel the difference is not the radiators but the external oil cooler and location (front lic plate area). refer www.pfadtracing.com

I recently installed an external cooler on my '03 Z6. I refused to pay the exorbitant amount the vendors are charging for their kits. I bought the cooler, hoses, and -AN fittings from Summit Racing and bought the adapter block from Lingenfelter. I fabricated the mounting brackets in about 10 minutes. I saved a little over a $100 doing it this way and have had great results. Here's a few pics:
Don't worry, the bolts are NOT going through the condensor.

I am using the DRM kit that is found on their web site. Great kit, all the bits and pieces, brackets and adaptors are included. It took me about 3 hours to install on my back on the garage floor. If I had used a lift time would have been about 2 hours. I was running 290-300 Deg oil temps at VIR in August. After kit install the highest temp I saw on a 95 Degree August day was 260. Well worth the $ from a longevity standpoint.

I have an integrated radiator/oil cooler from DRM
Oil temps used to be 300, run around 240 now on a hot day, best thing I ever put on my '02Z06

I put an external oil cooler in a few years ago to get my temps down from 280-290. I made up an install guide you can find here:
