When a finance guy becomes President, it always makes me nervous! It's an appropriate move when a company is trying to be bought.

So we, members, don't get to vote on who get's to be president?

THAT's what makes me nervous!

No we don't, never have.
We do get to vote on who represents us on the Board of Directors. That's why it may be important to pay attention to who's running and vote for a good decision maker rather than the name we see the most in race results.
In reality, no one 'runs for' SCCA President; it's a full time job that is hired by the group we elect to govern our Club.

Maybe the United States should take a page from that process and let the Congress hire the President. It would save the US tons of money in media coverage and campaign costs and we know we can trust the Congress to do what is best for us.

Now that is the best idea I have heard in a long time. Since Ted Stevens is out of work he can be the consultant to head up the study group.... Also I hear that the Illinois governer is now looking for work....
