Does the 2001 and up corvettes have a power steering fluid cooler standard?
or is it just on the C5 Z06? I had to put one on my 2000 coupe. Just curious to know if they made it standard equipment later on

the tube and fin ones that they come with are junk anyway. It didn't do anything for me on track. I had to add a larger stacked plate cooler to notice a benefit (i.e. power steering fluid not boiling over and steering getting really heavy).

I went from no pump cooler to the stock one that z's came with, and then I added the stacked plate big boy out of necessity. If I'd have known what I know now, I would have completely skipped the stock pos cooler. That's a fact.

In my experience the stock Z51/Z06 cooler is sufficient. I've never had a single PS issue over the years with mine.
Forum member Oyishdog's race car was made out of a '98 coupe so it didn't have the finned cooler at first and he'd boil it over often.
I had a student at Road Atlanta in March with a Magnusson supercharger which requires deletion of the PS cooler... even the little tube thing and he had PS fluid boiling over every session.

What type of fluid were you running? If it wasn't a synthetic PS fluid then it was inadequate.

^^^what you guys might be forgetting is the tracks at which you run at. I run at Barber, one of the most technical and low speed tracks that I know of, where the steering input is CONSTANT, Barber will stress a power steering system much worse than a Road Atlanta type track will, I'm sure you will agree on this point. Anyway, I've found the stock ps cooler to be insufficient at my hometown track, Barber motorsports park. Full synthetic fluid, slicks, and lap times of 1:45 had my system asking for help.
