Default Road Atlanta HPDE speeds ? C6 coupe

I will be moving to Atlanta next year....wondering if I need any extra safety stuff for my 380rwhp C6 MN6 coupe.

All safety gear is stock. What speeds will I see on the straight away? Around 150mph ?

Should I get the 6-point RSD bolt in roll bar before going ? Anything else?

With a good launch out of T7 on sticky tires, you can see 150mph with your power level.
Saftey gear is always a personal choice, but consider the max. Road Atlanta is extremely unforgiving as there are concrete barriers everywhere.

Welcome to the SE region.

I rolled my Z out there with no added equipment needed to run with Chin. On the back straight my instructor had me lift before the black flag tower which is before the halfway point because I was running 140mph at that point. So 150 might be possible for you if you come out of turn 7 with some serious heat.

Race Brake pads, not street pads. Brake duct cooling and Fresh DOT 4 brake fluid. have at it and have fun

That's pretty strong for the heat. I wasn't anywhere close to that.

Perkie still whooped my butt, that was on a 1:35.6 lap.
Looking at my data, I did manage to pick up some time on 12 & 1. Looks like I need to step up and pick up a bit more, also t3 was a tad slow.

I was instructing a c6z06 last weekend and if he hadn't lifted it would be north of 150.
He was getting an ok jump off 7
If it was my car I'd try to figure out how I can make it safer.

Welcome to the Southeast!

Definitely needs to be in 2nd gear between turn 6 and 7 is what I found.

You mean downshift to 2nd at turn 7 right?

In cool weather, 150 MPH is possible. In my C6ZO6 at the Chin event on July 30-31, I was running 5th gear to keep the temps down and getting somewhere around 140 MPH, but on the list of parameters to check on the straightaways, speed is the very last.

If you spend a lot of time looking at the speedo, you may want a full roll cage!

Jim

In a c6z you should be able to hit 160 no problem.

I never drove my C6z at road atlanta, but hit 163 on the front straight at Roebling with street tires. (that is in 4th gear.)
