Default Nitto NT-01 air pressure

Has anyone AUTOX on these tires and what pressure did you run with?

Thanks

Just started running them this year. Started at 30 cold. I drive approx 15 miles to the event site and bleed down to 28/28. Wear seems to be pretty even at 28 but I'm not one to chase optimum pressures to the nth degree. My C5 is pretty much stock with F45 and front C6 Z51 front bar and highway alignment.

I have been Auto Crossing and running Track days with Nitto NT01 tires for several years.
Usually running 28/27 for Auto Cross. Sometimes lowering air pressure to 26/25 depending on how hot the weather is and how hard we are using the brakes.
These tire seem to work pretty well as a middle of the road do everything performance tire. I usually drive to all events on them. Distance up to 150 miles each way.

28 sounds like a good place to start. I've run them on track for 2 years.

Personal preference, but I like a "crisper" response. So more like 36 - 39 psi (hot pressures) and that is on a C4 Vette. Also seem to have longer tire wear at higher pressures.

Biggest thing to concern you would be driving style, course type, and driver "feel" preference.

I run a stiff spring and shock set-up and higher pressures "feel" better to me.

Try it both ways back to back, and see what you like best.

doesnt the higher pressure make the tire rounder than flat?

Maybe on "Bias Ply" tires of the 70's, modern radial tires don't really change shape much with this small of pressure increase / decrease.

Pressure, sidewall stiffness-construction, wear patterns are much more advanced than the old tire axiom of, "more pressure to eliminate side wear and less pressure to eliminate center wear". Personally, I look for feel, consistency through 30 min. session and roll over indicators on sidewall for my pressure adjustments.

10/16/2011 Family Arena-St.Louis Boeing Autocross. Here are some links to some videos of myself and a buddy of mine driving my car. The tires were set to 32 psi and they stuck like glue. There was a lot of gravel on the coarse and the cars that had full slicks were all over the place. The NT01's preformed amazingly and my car got the fasted times over all.

Thanks
