I have a stock 2004 Z06 that I have been doing NASA HPDE 1-4 this year and and making the big step up to WTW in 2012. I have found a fully race prepped car with a 3.73 diff. For those who have been doing this a lot longer than me what major change should I expect to see? Currenly running on Hoosier R6's, brake cooling , etc. Seem to run mostly in 3rd gear now with a shift to 4th on straights how will this change in gear ratio change my shifting and currnt comfort zone.

Have you done any time trialing? It's a nice transition to w2w and it will help your qualifying sessions. I run a 3.73 rear diff with the MM6 tranny, but I wouldn't like it as much with the MM12 zo6 tranny. First through third gears would be too low IMO.

Basically agree. MM6 with 3.42 or 3.15
I use second to get off certain corners quicker. Acceleration is the most important thing.
Third can just be to slow unless you have monster torque, like in the 475 - 500 range.
A 3.73 with a M12 second would be basically worthless but third should be better. The biggest issue is you will need to use 5th a lot and that is a rough upshift and a horrible downshift..

Remember all those lines you've been learning? Throw those out the window.
