Default This is what happens when you get bored on a Sunday............

So this past Sunday I was bored and decided to work on my winter project. 8 1/2 hours later this is what I ended up with. The car is MUCH lighter than Mark's now

Some of my winter projects will include:
Relocating the ABS pump and EBCM inside the car to get the weight off the nose

Relocate the PCM etc. to inside the car

Flip the Rad forward
Install a QuarterMaster 7.25 8-leg Optimum-V clutch

Install 243 heads, 25% Underdrive ATI Damper, LS3 water pump and set Rev Limit to 6800rpm

Install ZR1 Spindle Uprights to reduce caliper mount flex
Relocate alternator

Install all new brake lines

Make front splitter removable to ease loading on the trailer

If my calculations are close I should have 50%/50% front to rear static and 51%/49% side to side weight distribution with no ballast and be at about 2955lbs with me in the car and 1/2 tank of gas when I'm done. This also includes a passenger seat.

Here's a picture of the ABS and PCM relocate. I haven't finished cleaning up the wiring yet but when I shortened all the wiring harnesses I removed about 6lbs.

I weighed my SPEC Clutch which has a special aluminum lightened pressure plate and a Fidanza aluminum flywheel, it was 31.5lbs. The new Quartermaster setup is supposed to be about 15lbs.
With all the work to relocate stuff and remove any extra weight I have pulled about another 55lbs off the nose of the car.
And some of the weight I had to keep up there I moved to the passenger side of the car.

Didn't need the extra power or headaches of working around them.
Used the money saved to pay for the clutch.

You probably don't want it. It has 115k+ miles and about 35k are on the race track.
I'm just swapping heads, cam, lifters, springs, injectors, oil pump, timing chain and water pump.

Looks like you got mighty happy with a hole saw on that hood! Impressive stuff as always. What really makes me chuckle is that you're just now starting your "winter" projects when the SE guys are racing at CMP this weekend and us MA folks are at VIR next weekend

I'm about a month behind schedule. The "Home" projects which had to be finished before I dove into this (in order to not get into too much trouble) took longer than expected

Our first event is a DE at Limerock at the end of March which I may use as a shakedown but more than likely will not be ready until the Friday test & tune April 20th which is out first race weekend.

Cool, keep us updated!

Now would be a good time to add some reinforcement bars to your cage in the engine bay.

Thanks.
I can't paint to save my life. I really like what you did with the front end of your car.

I wish you guys were closer. I could have used some help. I did all of that by myself with a floor jack
The wife did come out and hold the nose of the car up high enough for me to roll the motor and suspension out from under the frame on the floor jack. It took awhile to find the right spot so everything would balance properly.

Looks like you were busy. All kinds of good mods. I just picked up the 7.25 8 leg as well. I can't wait to try it out.

The man from Cincinnati. That's what Quartermaster recommended I do. Just like all the other stories floating around here, Danny took the time out of his day to go over the various clutch options based off what I using it for. Once I decided, he got it to me quick, fast, and in a hurry.

And this year my car should sound a little "meaner"

I think I'm going to get rid of the TI exhaust.
