Default F1 team Sponsor flies 2 point of no return ??

Force India's sponsor Kingfisher Airlines may be history

http://finance.yahoo.com/news/kingfi...111040372.html

Team Principle and Kingfisher CEO Vijay Mallya says he is in holding pattern.

Team Profile

http://www.formula1.com/teams_and_dr...m_profile.html

"While the airline has value to Mallya as a branding tool for his flagship Kingfisher beer, that isn't necessarily worth much to an outside investor.

Mallya, who with his cricket and Formula One racing teams and flashy lifestyle bills himself as the "King of Good Times", has failed in numerous bids to bring in fresh equity. His options are hobbled by a 49 percent cap on foreign investment."

I never thought their beer was that impressive either, IMO.

I never knew that a beer company had an airline! Sounds like it would be a lot more fun than Delta...

Shame as their drivers are really showing some promise.

Not just the drivers either...

The cars are showing some good speed and are competitive this year. Hulkenburg qualified 9th in Melbourne last week and Di Resta 15th, so the development on the cars seems to be good.

Before we all plan a wake for Force India F1, you might want to read up on Vijay Mallya and see just how much $$$ there is in his bank account, how many businesses he owns and/or controls, and how little Kingfisher Air sponsorship has to do with the success or failure of the racing team.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Force_India
(particularly the "Sponsorship and Partners" section.)

If Mallya and Sahara want the team to succeed, they certainly have the ability to make it so ($$$) completely aside from the fortunes of Kingfisher Air.
