Very interesting concept car, would love one to play with on the track. The guy from AVI mentioned a $60K pricepoint. I find that price highly unrealistic, with carbon body, full tube frame, and all the other goodies - no way. The Vette crate motor and suspension will help keep the price down, but I'd bet that the OTD price will be well over $100K.

Well I will have to eat my words. Just went to their site http://aviracing.com/gt1-corvette/ and researched the car. It is $59K OTD with a LS3 minus seat, tires and paint. LS7 and LS9 and other goodies are optional which could easily drive the price way up. For a very fast track day or TT car, you really could not purchase and modify a C6 Z06 for that kind of $.

Man, if they can build that as a turn key car for 60k, I'm in.

Going to their web site, the starting price if 59,900. Then if you want carbon body, double adjustables, drop spindles, brembos, LS7 etc etc...the price goes up.

But, for what they are offering 60k isn't bad. Most of the rest of that stuff you can add after the fact when budget permits.

I think it is a smokin' deal: better handling, safer, easier to work on (change a tranny or clutch in an hour!), and much lighter. How much does it cost to cage a C6 Z06?
If I knew now what I knew then..I'd buy the 59k option and then upgrade as I went or hit stuff

WANT.

Oh, yeah. There is that 'you-have-to-pay-for-it' thing.

Saw the vid last week. Looks a great bit of kit and pretty cost effective for the level of performance you get.

be nice to see how much a fully spec'ed car would cost!

VERY cool! 2330lbs and 430 hp

I wonder if it would be possible to register it as a "kit car" to get some plates on it...

one other plus is that since it wouldnt technically be a corvette with a vin the property taxes would be a lot lower than a factory car that they can get an NADA value on

nice find

I was thinking it would be nice if they would sell it as a kit. That might knock 5-10K of the price. They could sell just the chassis and body and the purchaser then fits the engine suspension, etc. Its only the same as the Factory Five cars!

Interesting - at 4:00 minutes in it looks like they are running an ls truck intake manifold...

I looked into that manifold - I think its supposed to get more torque from the long straight runners. It would be interesting to see if the FAST truck manifold would clear under a supercharger hood... or maybe with lower engine mounts?

heres a comparison of the FAST manifolds and some explanations.

Id love to fit this on my car

That 6" wheel well gap in the rear was distracting in an otherwise badass car!
