Default New ST2 - TT2 lap times what kind of differance are we seeing?

I'm curious what kind of improvement people are seeing (or expecting) with the change from 8.7 to 8.0 for ST2/TT2 this season. Obviously it will be different from track to track - ones favoring more hp should see more of a drop than handling tracks - I'm just interesting in seeing what you guys have seen.

So far we only had one event but our best last season was a 1.30.3 at Autobahn South and this year knocked it down to a 1.28.6. I'd say Autobahn is kind of a happy medium between hp and handling.

Maybe it's a little too early to tell.

TT2 is pretty dead (for lack of a better word) here in the Southeast.
I haven't heard of anyone planning a build either. ST2 has had a decent turnout, but I don't think there have been any big changes from previous years.

Last year I ran a 1:50.8 lap at Thunderhill and this year it was about mid 1:48 with no traffic. So that's about 2 seconds faster. What I have done to get from 8.7 to 8.0 is pull out a restrictor plate on my stock LS6 and remove 50 lbs from the car. It looks like I'm about 2-3 mph faster down the straights now. I'm not sure how much this is helping my lap times vs. the other improvements we've made to the car such as shocks and monoball bearings not to mention the driver improvement component. I know I made less mistakes this year in my fast lap at T-hill vs. last year.

We will have a good turnout of ST2 cars at the NASA race at WillowSprings in two weeks which will give the SoCal drivers the best opportunity to answer your question. We expect 3 - 4 seconds from 1:28s to 1:25/4s.

To be fair though Chuck we have added not only power, but aero, too.

According to SoCal NASA website the current track record is as follows;

Super Touring 2 1:28.267 05/23/10 Oli Thordarson (22)

I guess you did that without Aero and at 8.7:1.
