Default Which way to adj my LG Coilovers?

Going to VIR Fri for first track day since Sept of last year. I was watching some vid and I noticed my car bottoms out coming out of 16 onto the front stretch in the dip there. It did not do that before I installed the coilovers. Should I just firm up the rears or should I lengthen the rear shock? I normally run with them set on 10 front and 8 rear. Seems like I had the rears a littie firmer at first, but it wanted to hop under heavy braking, so I soften up the rear which fixed that. Suggestions?

Soft and firm are in relation to either compression (bump) or rebound (unless the adjustment adjusts both, which is tricky to deal with).
IIRC, those are only compression adjustable, correct?

Raise your ride height or up your spring rate. Shocks can't fix what you're looking to fix unless you run a massive amount of (slow speed) compression. But I could be wrong.

Don't waste time. Call Anthony at LG and ask him what to do.

I agree with all 3 of these guys. You need to make sure the changes you are making will solve the issue you are having. Increasing the spring rates or sway bar stiffness is one possible solution. Another is to raise the ride height as Scott mentioned by preloading the coilover spring more. A third option if you are not able to raise the height enough is to add a shim over the rear upper shock mount (I did this with the G2 coilovers in back with a 1/2" custom billet shim). I would not adjust shocks just to keep a car from bottoming out.

If you are bottoming hard, raise the car. Use the shock adjustment for balance. A slight bottoming is normalbthere

Myself, I am not that familiar with VIR.....just went there for my first time with the NCM guys last year.

With that being said, there is a dip there in the track and what David said might be true.....might be something on that track you would have to deal with.

How is the car through the last corner before the dip? You don't want to tune the car just to handle that dip if it is going to screw up every other location on track. A bit more extended length on the rear shock may help the situation though...

Give me a call or shoot me a PM and we can go over a bit more.
