Default Hosier R6 on stock wheels

HI guys !

I run 295 on rear with my stock wheel 18x10.5
According to the specification at tirerack we cannot fit 315 on a 10.5 wheel, they recommend a 315 on 11 to 12 inch wheel.

305 would be perfect but Hosier donot make that size.

So either I go with a other brand that make 305 ( kumo ) or i do not listen to tirerack recommendation and go with 315 Hosier

What you guys are thinking ??

Thanks !

315's on stock 18" work just fine. Many of us have been using those for years with good success.

315's are nice and comfy on 10.5" Speedlines. No problems at all.

On Tirerack website there is a chart that say Hosier 315 should not be on a rim smaller than 11 inch wide ? Am I the only one who saw that or you guys just don't mind about what they recommend ?

Talk to any of the guys who run C5's in T1 (SCCA)- that's the standard everyone's been using for years.

I've run 335 Hoosiers on those rims. If we only did what they recommend, we would lose every race. To save money, I went back to 315 as of late.

The Conti's are true slicks Vs the R6 being a DOT compliant tire. The slick has stiffer, shorter sidewalls and has no rim protector. Due to the stiffer sidewalls they they can give installers fits. Similar to installing a run flat tire. Whereas the R6s just slide on like any other non run flat street tire. I have been using them for the last couple of years.
