So how was Sunday racing at Englishtown?
I had a family obligation (wife's birthday dinner) so couldn't be there. Was it crowded? What classes were available for a vette to run? I'll really really try to make the next one which is in about 5 weeks. There then seems to be three in a row.

It was a looooooooooooooooooooooooooog day. I left the house at 7:00am sharp and rolled in at about 10:40pm (including a 2 hour tow). Crowded? It seemed like almost every spot in the pits was taken.
Classes included: Super, Pro, Street, Top Street, Modern Muscle/Corvette, Test & tune and yesterday also included a Stock/SuperStock combo and grudge runs.

The number of cars there yesterday was "not normal" as the Stock/Super Stock guys are not there usually, and the Top Street class is not run every points day (which yesterday was). There also seemed to be an excessive amount of NT and T-n-T cars there as well. In the past, the T-n-T category usually had 3 or 4 cars and the NT (or 3 runs for $60 class) was only 2 or 3 cars. On average, even with the MM/CC class added you should see that competition would be finished by 5:30 p.m. (or earlier) on most Sundays. Basically, a "normal" Sunday will have about 1/2 the car count of yesterday.

Hi Mike. I'll probably go another couple of Sundays, but once the beach traffic starts, Sundays are out of the question. I'll probably hit Island and Leb Valley a few times and then maybe back to Etown after the Summer.
I considered signing up for points in Leb Valley, but they start with like 8 races in 9 weeks......too much for me. I wish I lived closer.

Here's my info:
Got to the Track at 10:00am , no wait at the ticket booth, 5 minute wait at the tech line.
Made 2 passes by 11:00am and then had a 2 hr wait till pass #3 and #4.
Round 1 was at about 4:45pm.
Finished the day by 7:30pm.
I ran in the CC and the ET Street class.

I was going to post the same question. That's my problem with trying on a Sunday and getting out late then towing 2 1/2 hours home. Then work on Monday. But it was weird being at Island on Sat with out all the regulars were used to racing with. The 1hr 10min tow was nice!

The normal points classes at E-Town on a Sunday are Street ET, Pro, Super Pro, Top Street, Bike/Sled (these are 1/4 mile classes). For this year we added the CC/Modern Muscle Class from Saturday.
From time to time we will also have 11.50, 10.0, and 8.50 Index Racing.
Last year we were typically finished around 5:30 to 6:00 with all classes getting two times shots. Yesterday was very busy with the addition of the Stock/Super Stock race and a TON of test-n-tune cars. Several oil downs killed a lot of time. I think there was also one car in the sand trap.....
Ralph, next time you get that car to start so we can actually race!
Good seeing you guys Sunday.
By the way Ralph, I got home around 10:00 AFTER having dinner at Ruby Tuesdays!
Why do you want to live on Long Island buddy?
Poor Paul, losing with a .000 light in the semis. I hate .000 lights, they are the kiss of death to me, I usually lose with them also.

Paul, I don't think Sundays will finish early this year with the addition of the CC/MM class. That was part of the reason to add that class to Sundays because we had been finishing so early on the typical Sunday and the Saturday participation was dwindling. It's too bad, I really like the laid-back Saturday racing and it was also a great day for newer drivers to learn the ropes.
The people that used to run the CC can race in the CC/MM class on Sunday. If they are 11.50 and slower with four DOT tires they can also race in Street ET. If they are quicker than 11.50 they can race in Pro. If they can run 12.99 and quicker they can also possibly race in Top Street. That is a qualified field, so if we have more than 32 cars they could get bumped-out. But..........They will get to race in Super Pro instead. That is why Super Pro and Top Street have the same 12.99 break. I don't think I would want to be running high 12's with 7 second dragsters myself........ But some people do!

You know, maybe it wouldn't be the end of the world to run trophy stock on the 1/8 mile if things get too crazy on the 1/4 mile. I know you don't need to actually be stock and lots of tracks around the country run only the 1/8 mile. Anyone have any experience or knowledge about the 1/8 at Englishtown?
