Hmmm... Thinking I might join, and put in a request for the day off of work, but I won't be taking the vette if I do. I'll keep you posted if I can get the day off!

I've done quite a few HPDEs, that sounds more for "newer" people to the sport. Where you live Babaron, I saw your post in the Z06 forUm also.

It looks like they have "open" track time and "follow" limited track time. Is the open time still beginner oriented?

I'm just south of Dayton. I have done 2 courses so I will be in the "Open Track" part. But those with little or no training can do lead-follow in their own cars.

Cool. I'm in the Lebanon/Springboro area.

Check out 10/10ths Motorsports if you plan on tracking your car often.

Hey Rob... I'm in the Lebanon/Springboro area, .25 miles east of Red Lion.

10/10ths events are great.... and there are a number of guys there that know vettes like the back of their hands, as they work with Danny Popp.

Now I typically track with private groups tuning their race cars, which means no corner workers (or reduced staffing) and no organization, but there's nothing better than 10/10ths, from beginner to experienced. They stick a guy with you if you need it who really knows his stuff, and have 3 running groups based on skill level.

Hey guys another neighbor from Milford. I plan to take part in the 10/10 event on 6/19. Putnum is a little more forgiving for me and my new to me C6. I left Monday morning for Miami Fl via WV,TN and NC. Took 16 down and ended up at The Dragon. Been there many times on my bike but first time with 400 HP! Amazing cars and can't wait to get it on the track. Hopefully see you guys out there some day.

Weekdays are always the best bet. Weekends are packed especially with nice weather. I got there just after 8pm on Monday evening and pretty much had the road to myself. I met a couple of people who just ran it up by the damn overlook. They smiled and said there where no police out. Game on! I passed two MC coming the opposite direction and that was it.

If my return north next week goes according to plan, I intend to spend at least two days in the area. The snake is a great road too. There really aren't any 'bad' roads in the area.

Default Bob McDorman 1932-2015

A lot of us attended his corvette cruise in/show held in September. Perhaps they will bring it back in his honor.

http://www.dispatch.com/content/stor...rman-dies.html

Bob McDorman, a Chevrolet dealer known for his Corvette collection and his longevity in a tough business, died on Wednesday morning after a short illness. He was 82.

“Today, we lost a legend, a true class act,” said a message posted on the Facebook page of Jeff Wyler Chevrolet, the Canal Winchester dealership that was Bob McDorman Chevrolet until 2011. “His legacy will forever live on in the multitudes of those that he touched. Rest in peace in that huge car lot in the sky.”

McDorman is being remembered for his passion for cars. When a car was a strong seller, he liked to say it was “hotter than a firecracker,” and he found ways to be excited about Chevrolet through decades of ups and downs.

He had been a Chevrolet franchise owner from 1965 until 2011. He sold a majority stake in his dealership to Wyler, but remained a regular presence in the office.

Selling cars “was his life,” said Tim Doran, president of the Ohio Automobile Dealers Association. “He didn’t golf. He didn’t play tennis.”

Last year, he opened the Bob McDorman Automotive Museum in Canal Winchester, which houses much of his car collection.

Hey dahogan, any idea when the Columbus Zoo show is this year? I thought I saw it posted at one point, but can't seem to find anything on it for this year yet. That is always a fun show near the end of the fun car driving season.
