Bloomington Gold 2015
Looks as though the construction in Champaign is forcing the show to move. I do not see anything listing where they are going yet, but curious if this would bring some people who have recently said they would not go back, to now go back for next year?

Hopefully it is not further away. I'd be happy if they went back to either Springfield or Bloomington.

The State Farm Center in Campaign, Illinois is currently being renovated, which doesn’t make for a great venue for a long-running car show. As a consequence, the Bloomington Gold Corvette show will have to find new digs for the 2015 show season.
According to The News-Gazette, the President and CEO of Visit Champaign County, Jayne DeLuce, announced on a radio show today that Bloomington Gold vendors have decided not to return to Champaign as they were upset with having to “compete with construction.”
However, DeLuce added that vendors haven’t completely written off Champaign, as they would like to have the show return to the Chicago area. She said it’s possible that Visit Champaign County will approach the Corvette vendors again once renovations of the State Farm Center are complete.
A location has yet to be set for the 2015 Bloomington Gold event, but the dates will be June 25-27, 2015.

Indiana!!! From the BG website...
Bloomington Gold is Moving!
Interesting Corvette Fact: Over half the body panels
for the 2014 Corvette were made in Indiana.
Bloomington Gold would like to say "Hello Indiana!"

Bloomington Gold is leaving Champaign
by Rick Tavel
If you were planning on heading to Champaign, Illinois, in June for the annual gathering of some of the finest Corvettes in the country, don’t book your room; Bloomington Gold is pulling up stakes and moving from the location they have used for the last couple years. Problem is no one knows where they are headed. At least not yet.
The catalyst for the move is the massive and ongoing remodel of the State Farm Center and show promoters feel the inconvenience caused by the remodel is too much for show participants to endure. Rumor is the show will likely remain in the greater Chicago area. Expect an announcement in the near future detailing Bloomington Gold’s future location.
Earlier this year Mecum Auctions owner of the Bloomington Gold Show cancelled their long time Bloomington Gold Auction which ran during the Bloomington Gold event. At that time Mecum said the reason was Corvettes were being bought at their other auctions and eliminated the need for an all Corvette auction.

Been going to the show for over 12 years....and it has drastically gone downhill in the past 2. 2014 was truly a joke. Even 50% of the vendors packed up by 3 ....on Saturday!
If it wasn't for the chance to drive a C7, would have been a complete waste of time. That said, could've just done that at the dealer who fixes my lot of vettes a lot closer to home...and without the line or the breathalizer

BG is now a joke and a waste of time. Moving around, not having a home. It can not build a following doing that. It's like a Resturant changing its concept every month till something catches. Close the doors Carlisle is the king of corvette shows. Same place and puts on a great show and turn out.

News Release
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Bloomington Gold Corvettes USA, "The Granddaddy of Corvette Shows," will make its inaugural appearance at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway from June 25-27, 2015.
The nation's most prestigious and longest-running all-Corvette show will include a gigantic one-of-a-kind display of Corvettes with many of the world's most valuable and collectable Corvettes available for judging on Friday, June 26, and Saturday, June 27.
"Chevrolet Corvettes have served as the official Pace Car for the Indianapolis 500 a record 12 times, so it's a perfect fit for the nation's premiere all-Corvette show to be showcased at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway," said J. Douglas Boles, Indianapolis Motor Speedway president. "We're looking forward to hosting Bloomington Gold Corvettes USA along with thousands of Corvette and automobile enthusiasts for a great three days at 'The Racing Capital of the World.'"
Bloomington Gold began operations by hosting the Bloomington Corvette Corral in 1973 at the McLean County Fairgrounds in Bloomington, Illinois. The show became a hit when 1,500 people attended the event that featured 112 Corvettes. The event has grown substantially through the years, with 5,000 Corvettes expected to appear at the Bloomington Gold show at IMS.
New and used Corvettes will be available for purchase and attendees will be encouraged to visit the wide variety of Corvette vendors at the event.
"Corvette owners will be able to experience the thrill of driving laps on the oval, high- speed rides on the road course and more thrilling events than any other car show has to offer," said Guy Larsen, Bloomington Gold president. "By renting the entire facility, all aspects of this iconic venue will be offered to show attendees including the race garages, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Hall of Fame Museum and Brickyard Crossing Golf Course."
