Good thing about today's snow is that b/c the (ground) temperature is fairly warm and we will probably on get 1 to 3 inches, the snow is not sticking to the major roadways and I don't believe any salt trucks will be out today given that and the fact that is a Sunday.
With any luck most of this will be melted within a day or two and hopefully the roads can remain salt free fro those of us who like to drive their fun summer cars year round.
This is a great thread to keep those of us who drive year round (when their is no salt all over the roadway) informed of the salt/road conditions.
Please post up if you have seen and salt trucks out today.

I think with all this wet snow though it will be washed up fairly quickly.
Will be hitting the Eisenhower headed out e/b towards Harlem ave. to visit my dad in a few minutes and will report back later on what I see out in the near west suburbs.

Guess they need to throw down to use it up to meet their quote and budget for next year. I hate when they do that.

Looks like its going to be at least about 3 inches with the snow ending around 6 pm.
Today, I did not spot a single salt truck from Elmhurst all the way to River Forest (just west of Oak Park) and then back from River Forest on North Ave.
This will all melt and make a good mess over the next few days but I think we are going to avoid major salt having been thrown down and any salt that is down will be washed away as this heavy wet snow melts.
Who knows by the middle to end of the week might be able to get some driving in with the fun, fast, cars.

Hmm. Forecast is going up.
I hope it holds - I loves me a good snowstorm.

Yesterday a dust devil whipped up in our parking lot and hit me and my lunch partner smack in the face. Turned out it was salt powder and not dust! Phht, phht, phht.
This concludes my salt report…
