Default Corvette C4/C5/C6 Shootouy in May...The Road Trip

Edgar, so this is the secret road trip that you have been telling us to save for? Cool. BG is only 4 hours away. I'll be there.

That happened to me there to Rob. If you are still in the race late in the day, when you look at the tree you are looking right at the sun. It is a real pain especially if you lose the race because of it.

Default Bowling Green

Edgar, count us in! Should be a great event. NMCA is really trying to incorporate some interesting events into their regular schedule. We ran 6 out of their 7 events last year and won't be able to do that this year. There is also the event at Charlotte August 6-9th that is billed as a shoot out battle between GM Ls power, Ford Modular Power, aand Late Model Hemi Power. We're going to do that one also. Hope Santas good to you Edgar, we know you've been good

Keith, I am not aware of anything that has been requested that might be changed or added. Let me know what you think might need review and I we can decide how to proceed.

Greg,

From what I can tell we could race our cars in the Nostalgia Pro Street class and if we were to win the additional $ would be added. Rules are interesting for that class and I do not qualify because I don't have a passenger seat.

It would be really cool to match our IRS cars in the Nostalgia Pro Street Class (which appears to be the one we would have to run in)but I'm not giving up my nitrous bottles which are mounted where the passenger seat was located and the rules require 2 seats.

NMCA appears to be pretty strict.

Sucks that there isn't a C3 shootout class. Maybe they assume there would not be enuf entrants.

Mark, I did not see NPS as one of the classes they offers the bonus for.

One good reason why no C3's; I doubt I can find one that all would find satisfactory. I would like to see all generations included but that is not within the specifications they outlined. I suggested all be included. Perhaps it is as Mark stated they may not feel there would be enough.

I do think that offer made to the other generations is pretty sweet. Following is brief description of they classes and some more info and their winner payouts. If you are interested in one, please do read the rule book to ensure there is not some obscure rule that would keep you out of the class.

Nostalgia Muscle Car
750
Nostalgia Muscle Car is an index-style foot brake only class for the year models, body styles, and engine combinations. 55 –79 Chevrolet Corporation All V8 Body Styles & Models Permitted
.500 full tree handicapped start
indexes 10.0 to 14.50 in half second increments

Nostalgia Super Stock
1000
Nostalgia Super Stock is an index-style foot brake only class for the year models, body styles, and engine.
.500 full tree handicapped start
indexes 8.75 to 12.0 in quarter second increments
Chevrolet Full Bodied: 1959-64; 348 & 409s, Z11 427
Chevrolet Full Bodied: 1965-67; 396-454

True Street
$250 overall winner
$100 to "class" winner in 9.00, 10.00, 11.00, 12.00, 13.00, 14.00, and 15.00
Saturday only. 30 mile cruise. Three pass average is your ET
.400 pro tree but it does not matter since you are chasing an average.

Open Comp
$500
The Open Comp class will run on an Open Comp format with a 1-tenth (1/10th) breakout.
This means your dial in is .10 less than your best qualifier.
all cars.
.500 Pro Tree handicapped start

Default Who at NMCA put this together?

Any other C3's willing to show-up? I would hate to see an IRS Corvette race and not allow some of the fastest cars!

Greg -

Let us know if you make contact. Besides me there are some other C3s from the Northeast that may be interested. They are not 8 second cars but they are IRS C3s. Of course, I'm still out if they absolutely insist on a passenger seat.
