Default LP700-4 vs. GT2 RS

This is the first challenge between these 2 monster. GT2 rs got destroyed easily. I didn't expect that performance .

How would the ZR1 do against these monsters ?

That Lamborghini really is an impressive piece of craftsmanship for sure. I think the ZR1 would be somewhere closer to the porsche on this one. Not much can compete with 691hp and 4 wheel drive.
Awesome video, thanks for posting

In a mile race I think the Z will do fairly well against it. Dont know if it would win or not but I think itll be pretty close. In those conditions it would be no match for it in the 1/4 but at the track with Kyle driving it(hehe) Id give the edge to the Z.

It got a huge jump off the line with awd and every up shift is going to ~.1 faster than the Porsche, but still it was a beating!

The GT2 RS does not have launch control, and it is a manual 6-speed. It would loose even with launch control and PDK (if either were available as options), but it would have been a little closer with these technologies.

As for the ZR1 against the Lambo? The Vette wouldn't stand a chance. That shouldn't surprise anyone, as only a few (maybe only one) current production cars in the world would give the Lambo a run for the money.

The jump was more a function of launch control.

Launch control coupled to great traction control and engine electronics, feeding a 57% rear weight bias, spells "quick off the line".

2012 Lamborghini Aventador - $387,000
2012 Porsche 911 GT2 RS - $245,000
2012 Chevrolet ZR1 3ZR - $125,000

The ZR1 may get beat by the lambo but not by much, especially on a road course...not bad for 1/3 the price.

Pretty close?? Guys are struggling to get 185 MPH in the mile, that thing flew by 200!
Kyle may be quicker, but average 1/4 times, the lambo will be quicker 99% of the time. hey I love my ZR1 but I know when props should be given.

Not by much? Unless it is any type of "0 to any number" type race. Again, let us be honest here, the car is a "MONSTER" (true meaning, unlike those who say the Challenger SRT8 is a monster) and those that will own one, do not care it is 2/3rds more than a ZR1.

A very important point that it seems few understand.

Some of you guys must be on crack. The Aventador would spank a ZR1 all the way back to Bowling Green.

The ZR1 is an incredible car, but not in the same league as an Aventador.

This is true, but whether present or future owners of the Lambo care about price wasn't my point. It's just a cost/performance comparison which happens to be in the ZR1s favor in this case.

I agree that the thing is shot out of a cannon, but if I honestly had $400K to spend on a car it absolutely wouldn't be that one. It's GT-R'ish, square'ish in a ricer kind of way that doesn't appeal to me. And I think the wheel design sux!!!

Now a Ferrari Italia in the stable on the other hand would be pretty cool...

I agree with you in a 1/4, but a road course it would be a more like a battle not a "spank".

It's a comparison that they don't care about.

Who the hell are they???...The mysterious Lambo Aventador owners? I don't think, nor do I really care that they're lining up to respond to a ZR1 thread.

I/we are talking to the "Corvette Forum" members here Notch Johnson, you know, the one with the Corvette owners on it...

Be careful.....thats starting to sound like a mustang owners response to my 1/4 mile passes

I must say that lambo must be a beast to pull 200 in a mile, however im not sure that was an exact scientific mile. I do hope that car makes an appearance in the upcoming c&d lightning lap. There are great sectors of that test to really compare cars abilities.

I must agree with 3lzzo6 that a test like that will be more of a battle than a spanking, especially if they re run the zr1 on cups!

The Lambo was awesome.

Arm-ing the launch control is a ridiculous series of button pushing, switch flipping and buttock squeezing sequence of events . Then - Maximum Thrust mode possible - holy cheeze wizz batman. Bruce Wayne - Where is the electrified bat pole? WTF is this video game world coming too?

How many batman launches are you allowed before the warranty is voided?

How many batman launches before the drive train falls out - like the used studebaker Ricky Ricardo bought on the 13th episode of "I Love Lucy"

Oh thats right - high rollers won't care. because they have enough money that it makes no difference.

The zr1 might stand a fair chance in a roll on from 40 mph.

That things runs like a scalded dog. That surely wasn't 200 in a mile though. Those of us who have run the mile many times know what kind of power that takes and it isn't 700hp.

Lambos are bulletproof these days thanks to Audi. They run nearly stick drivetrains with 1000hp twin turbos.

The Aventador is awesome no doubt but having crawled around one I was very put off by all the black honeycomb plastic in the front bumper, rear bumper, and the side vents. Very cheap looking for a 400k car.
