Default Dealer Shenanigans

I have a buddy who took her car in to repair the sunroof. While the car was in their care, the dealer stripped the screws to the roof. No big deal. They have to order some replacement screws. Today they called and said while they were messing with the screws, they punctured the roof.

They are planning to take it to the body shop and repaint it but I know they will never be able to math the 4.5 yr old metallic paint.

What do you guys suggest she request/demand in addition to the aforementioned repairs?

Thanks in advance!

If she were to sell the car within a couple of years, the fact that the roof was painted (even if perfect) may result in a lower selling price. If the car is to be kept for a long time, that may not matter, but at a minimum, she should not "sign off" the repair unless she is fully satisfied with the paint match.

MVR,
How could you NOT agree with someone as unbiased about cars as I am?

legally i can't see how they would be held responsible for giving her any cash or other incentives on the side. They are repairing the damage and making it look like before. I know some will say the paint doesn't match exactly but just as with any accident the other party is not there to make your car look like new, they are there to make u whole. to repair it as a used car would look in the present state.

If the dealership is nice enough they would throw in something extra as a sorry gift but I wouldn't say they are legally obligated to.

Thanks or the feedback.

The car should be ready tomorrow. I believe I will request a percentage discount on the other repairs. We shall see...
