Front bumper too proud!

Front bumper too proud!
Hi, I've had the front end apart for new suspension, radiator surround and repair to front cross-member. The car was also repainted. On reassembly the chrome front bumper sits out too far by a 1/2". The large horse shoe bracket needs to go back 1/2" but is maxed out. The chassis extensions either side that carry the front cross-member are also as far rearward as possible. I cant figure out how this has come about or how to fix it without cutting the horse shoe bracket. Any ideas??? Regards, Greg

QUESTIONS:
1.) Was the body taken off the frame????
2.) IS this the SAME bumper that was on the car initially???
3.) If it is a new bumper...do you still have the original front bumper???
Can you post a photo with the bumper being on the 'horseshoe' bracket???

Makes no sense. It is really far away from the body...I like them with an even space/gap all the way across when I set them up.
Th reason I asked if the body was taken off is that there are two points under your door sills (one on each side)that allow the body to be set-up and squared to the frame. I would look at them and see if the holes do not line up. These holes in the door sill may have orange plugs in them.
I KNOW you wrote it..but are you SURE the frame extensions that allow the front cross member to bolt to it are all the way back....are you 100% positive???

Hi DUB,
The frame extensions are all the way back, last night I jigged the radiator support frame up a little to get an angle pitched up on the frame extensions. Now the 3 shims I had under the horse shoe are not needed but now I suspect they belong under the radiator support. I will carry on tonight. Apologies, I should close this thread since it took off in the tech section. See more pics and help here.
