Default Fiberglass repair on an 88 side exhaust cover

How should I fix this. I would like to make the bottom flatter where no one can see it. Car is a 88, fiberglass side exhaust cover installed in 2000 and at 45,000 miles in 2015 this is what they look like.

Fiberglass mat with resin and after sanding use some Tiger hair. What I want to do is make the bottom flatter after it is repaired. Sanding/grinding the repair and will leave some open spaces on the bottom side so I would like to know what material I can use to create a mold so the mat/resin will not stick to it and then I can build up the glass on the inside.
The fiberglass bulge has always been to low. Wife clipped a curb in a parking lot and this what you see.

Masking tape.

After reading on how long you have had these on the car and this is the first incident...that is really good. Do as you wish...but even if it were flattened and it got hit by a curb again....I would bet there still would be damage. The reason being is this side exhaust is lower then the bottom of the factory pinchweld where the original rockers were mounted.

Masking tape. How simple.
Thanks DUB. I love these pipes but the fiberglass covers do have their down side. After I get them painted I am going to have them "wrapped" with this clear film being used now.

I just might be able to help you out with side pipe parts for your 88. If interested let me know.
