Average temperature of brake rotors

I have some new rotors coming in the mail and I wanted to clearcoat the rotor hats to have a cleaner look. But the only clearcoat engine block paint I can find is certified to withstand 500 degrees. I was wondering if that will handle the rotors' average temperature? Thanks

No it will not... ( 500F )
average heated rotors are around 800 to 1000F
spirited driving can send the rotors to 1200/1500F.
All out road racing can get the rotors glowing @1800 + F

You can buy header paint @1500 F from a speed shop
or you can buy VHT ( Very High Temp. ) 1200F from places like Pep Boys, Auto Zone, or Advanced auto..

It will NOT work. Your rotors get alot hotter when you lean on the brakes..

I painted my hats with VHT 2000 degree header paint (Black) and have had a few good runs on the rotors and they still look great.
