What is that plastic piece sticking off to the side for? The part that's different from the concept. It looks like they're saying.. "hello...drill for your dry shot right here!"

Best,
Gene

Oh what a shame...looks like the new Z06 is too noisy at WOT with intake roar and it required a little muffler action to help tame this beautiful noise (see circled red area in photo below)!

Isn't that where the PVC valves vent to so as not to create turbulence in the intake? That is very similar to the Stingray intake where the PCV lines go to and if you look closely at the lower left of the circle, you can see what appears to be the PCV line attached to the kindney shaped bulge on the air intake.

Default Halltech's C7 Z06 Stinger is already in Prototype

http://www.halltechsystems.com/category-s/355.htm

As soon as we have delivery of our Yellow Jacketed Z06, we'll have the intake running the same day. It is already designed.

It will be interesting to see how closely the new intake resembles our Stinger.

GM purchased our carbon fiber StingerCKN in Feb, and had us ship it to the Milford Proving Grounds.

I take this as a pretty big compliment.

Does anyone have recently underhood pictures of the latest induction system on the C7 Z06? If so, please post them.

Thanks,

Jim Hall

It's not uncommon that engineers have to dial back intake/exhaust tuning to make the car 50 state legal for emissions. Always room to improve breathing

How does that work? I am not sure that the intake design has an impact on emissions. Are we talking about sound pollution or something else altogether.

The opposite, it's where the PCV system draws fresh air to compensate for the vacuum pulled out of crankcase and into the intake manifold.

The funny shape, just like the regular C7, is to quiet the intake noise down. When you install an aftermarket intake, you notice your car sounds like a honking goose......because they eliminate this design.
