Default 50th badgeing

I just bought a 2003 convertible with a black interior. It has no 50th emblem on seats and no badge on front side fenders. ??? It has emblems between seats and on hood and trunk. What gives??

Not every '03 was an Anniversary Edition. That was an upgrade that cost extra.

Yours was built in an anniversary year, but was not an Anniversary Edition. Only the AE had the badges on the front fenders and on the seats. Only the AE had the shale interior (and the Anniversary Red ext) and the champagne colored wheels. All 2003's had the front and rear 50th badges. The AE was priced $5000 higher than a like 2003 and also came with F55 MSRC for that figure.

What you have is what the factory put on the car. Only the 50th Anniversary Edition cars (AE Red paint) had the seat back embroidery and the metal emblems on the front fenders. All other 2003 cars had the 50th logo on the instrument cluster and had Anniversary 50 inside the oval of the front/rear emblems.
