Default Z06 - Grand Sport Hood Compare

A lot of excitement around the new Grand Sport…so many I talk with simply say
“It’s exactly like the Z06 without the motor…..”

Well….not exactly, check out the hoods and their extractor vents….
as I mentioned in my video the other day, each Corvette model has its own personality
and some items are protected…Z06 with its clear taillights and wider taller hood and (cough) ,
notice we do not even have a Blue caliper available…that has always been on what?! (Cough)
…..stay tuned!

Rick, are the exhaust diameters the same on a GS, Stingray Z51 and Z06?

Is the exhaust tuned differently for the Z06 vs the GS and Stingray Z51?

Tom

I'm guessing you are referring to blue calipers on the ZR1 Rick ?

My biggest disappointment about the GS is that it got the Stingray hood. I've been studying the differences between the Z06 hood and the Stingray hood and it looks like you could just bolt the Z06 hood right on. Has anyone done a swap yet?

You'll have to look into the under-hood ducting as well. Not sure if its all bolt-on (it probably is honestly) but the standard extractor ducting won't match up to a Z06 hood.

I felt just the opposite. The standard hood integrates much better with the cars design.

All C7 Exhausts are the same as far as pipe size is concerned. When we got our first 2014, it had Z06 stamped into the mid pipe.

Only change is mufflers and over the axle pipes for valves and tip size.

YES!! The Stingray hood sits lower and gives the car more of that low slung appearance. I'm not a fan of raised or bulkier looking hoods.

I do wish they would go back to using a creased hood like the C5. That was my favorite hood ever.
