Default Side view mirror removal

Hello

Does anyone have detailed directions or video on how to remove side view mirrors?

I don't, but I am curious as to why you would want to do this.

I don't have a clue, but why?
Inquiring minds want to know.

I read somewhere that the glass just pops out/in, or do you mean the entire mirror? I'd like to replace my passenger side mirror glass because in the light, it looks like it's covered in spider web like cracks. And I checked, glass is not warranted.

Here are the instructions in the sticky:

Once you have the interior of the door off, if I remember, the mirrors looked to be pretty straightforward to remove. I highly recommend a metal trim removal tool though to get the door panel off.

I've done it to replace the OEM mirror housings with carbon fiber ones. Its not terribly difficult, but its easy to drop small screws and fasteners into areas where its very difficult to retrieve them. Its also awkward to get to the three nuts that secure the mirror base to the door. That's accessed through the large hole that the main speaker was removed from. Its a long reach with a swivel ratchet and extension, and its a 'blind' reach as well.

I ran across a set of Carbon Fiber mirrors and was wondering how hard it would be to make the switch.

I'm having trouble pulling wiring out thru door hole...What's holding it tight

Yes I have two plugs undone and grommet pushed thru interior door hole.

Not metal trim removal tools. Paint & plastic door panel will be damaged. A set of PLASTIC trim removal tools will only set you back $15 or so & there is a tool for any fastener you’ll likely come across in the set.
