you shouldn't be THAT upside down. In my area a used 2007 base is valued at 17,200 - 20,300 for trade in with a median of $18,700. If your vette is MINT you should be able to fight to get pretty darn close to what you owe. Of course you'll be paying quite a bit more for a GS, probably in the mid 30s for a nice one. For that price you could also be looking at some Z06's. Good luck!

Sounds like you didn't get the car you wanted a year ago. I never borrow money on my hobby cars though.

If possible double payments, if you feel you could swing $30K payment on a GS, double payments on your present C6 are in play.
Sooner you get some equity the better, otherwise your liability only gets bigger. No way to get ahead, friend.

Heck, don't worry about it. Sometimes we all get carried away with the term "Upgrade". Don't get yourself in another financial pickle. Take care of the one you have and drive it until you can afford another one without breaking the bank.

Pay it down. Enjoy it. By time you pay it off you'll be able to grab a c7 for 30k or so. Make that move. Silly to step up in generation unless you're going to a zr or at least a z06 (for power or track purposes).
Don't turn a decision you're slightly regretting now into one you'll REALLY regret being upside down and paying a ridiculous amount for a gs because of it. You'll be miserable looking at payoff.
I purchased my 08 outright. I also have a hard time havin a car note for something I use 3 or 4x a month and not at all for 3 to 4 mos of the year (northeast weather). But to each his own.
I am like you. Wanting abother vette. But I am seriously considering a 16 z06 leftover. The deal is ridiculous 18k off in some cases. But I would want to leave excess cash in my investments not pull it to buy a rapidly depreciting asset! So what to do what to do. I will not settle for non widebody again. So I'll wait and save and enjoy my current c6.
