Might want to look at the Harbor Freight long reach low profile jack. I have their 3 ton low profile and I'm sure I couldn't get it far enough under the front of my base '09 to get it safely off the floor.

Try driving the front of your car on some small 1 X 10's or what ever size you need to get just that little bit of extra room.

Any low profile jack will work. No specific brand. Buy what you want.

Well, the problem with the jack that 'MH663' recommends is, that I don't believe that it's long enough to go straight under the front end of a GS and lift the car from the center of the GS's front frame.

Most people would like to lift the car from the very front center of the car and then put jack stands under the two front / side jack points to the rear of the front wheels.

I may be wrong, but I am thinking that the low profile jack that 'MH663' mentioned may not be long enough to be used straight down the very front of the car.

On the other hand, you can buy a very similar jack, but a jack that is longer .... Because of it's increased length, this jack can be pushed straight into the front center of the GS and lift it up in order to install jack stands under the front / side lifting points.

Check this out ...

That's what I've done in the past, and is certainly the most economical approach if you already have a jack. I use 2x12's.

I found a great extra low profile jack on Amazon: The Arcan XL2T Black Low Profile Steel Service Jack, 2 Ton Capacity. I use it with poly pucks. Not familiar with the center lift point, to know if this would reach that or not. Link below:

https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Note: When I got mine, the price was $217 with free shipping - not the current price plus a huge shipping fee. I almost never pay for shipping directly.

Most of us have the 1.5 ton aluminum jack from Harbor Freight. You can find them on sale with the 20% coupon for $59. It will not go under the front but it will from the back. What you do is lift the car from the side using jacking pucks. These little jacks are very durable and almost bullet proof. For $59 you can't go wrong.

Check the fine print of the 20% coupon as I believe jacks are excluded

I'm currently considering the Daytona floor jack from Harbor Freight #63183 a 3 ton unit to raise my 1970 C3 up. It has a raising height of 23 1/8" inches. I bought and you may consider also lift stands from a site called MYLIFTSTAND.COM the fella's name is Bill Gibbs. Received them yesterday and are of excellent build quality, I'm looking forward to using them. Good luck with your choice.
Btw, I receive no compensation from myliftstand but I like excellent ideas/products made in America if I can find them.

My Bad here, did not know that the one posted above had a raise height of 23 3/4". Decisions, decisions.

I have the Harbor Freight Pittsburgh 3 ton low profile jack as I use it on my 4X4 truck as well as the Vette. I have a set of jacking pucks that I use when lifting the Vette.

I have a low profile jack from harbor freight made by Pittsburgh. It is 2-3/4" tall when lowered. Easy to get under the jacking pucks.

I have a GS and I've posted this before. If you have the $$, buy a pair of Trax Jacks from Race Ramps. They are small, 3 pound, ramps that fit under the GS and lift the car about 2 inches. This allows you to fit almost any jack under there. They are about $80, so more $$ then a piece of wood, but very small, lightweight, and even easily fit in the car. Great product. Good luck.
