Default Door impact sensors

I have a 2011 ZR1 after removing the door panels I noticed a harness that was not connected to anything near the mirror. The harness was taped off in what looked like factory heavy sticky tape. Im assuming this harness is for the door impact sensor since I don't see one.
Question is why is there no door impact sensors?

Also on reassembly whats the trick to get those pesky clips to engage at the top of the door panel?

To answer the door clips, the trick is to put rope or wire under the clips and have the rope or wire extend out past the door panel. You can then yank up on the rope/wire loop to pull back the clips while you push in the door panel clips onto the door skin. Shoelaces work as well.

As far as the side impact sensor for the air bag deployment, there is only one in each door, towards the rear of the door #18 as per the diagram below and the call out. The passenger door is exactly the same .

Passenger door - impact sensor #10

Just for added info, the C designation is for Connectors ie: C501
and S designation is Splices for wiring ie: S539

what do you suppose this connector is for? as I said it is taped up to the power mirror harness right near where the harness goes out the door to the mirror. I just happen to have a impact sensor and the connector is almost the same .

It's been awhile since i had my door panel off, and since everything that was supposed to work, did, I didn't look for any connector that wasn't plugged to anything.
If your not having any issues with mirror dimming, or defrosting, etc, or any component in the door not working, I wouldn't worry about it.
I'm asuming that your ZR1 is loaded with all the options?
Most connectors look similar, but it's the wiring to those connectors that determine their pupose.

Here are all the impact sensors on your car

If I have the panel off anytime soon, I'll have a look, and report back to you on here and by PM.

That is a possibilty, but according to the servvice manual, that connector for the xm antenna is just behind the rubber boot seal in the side panel inside the car where the cables go through to the door.
I just may remove my panel, because now I'm really curious

its a black connector covered by a heavy factory type tape. I did bot see it until I removed the tape right on inside of door where cable goes into outside door mirror, 2 pins

Is your car a 1ZR optioned package? Do you have a memory switch for the seats and mirror positions?

I don't have memory seats so I think this may be heated mirror connector?
